Bad News/Good News situation.

Bad News: XBox Entertainment Studios is getting shutdown by Microsoft after the 18,000 layoffs.

Good News: They are still planning on keeping their stuff like "NFL on XBox" and the Halo: Nightfall thing will survive. It looks like that will also possibly air on Showtime.

Though the closure of Xbox Entertainment Studios will drastically reduce Microsoft's plans for original Xbox programming, corporate vice president of Microsoft Game Studios Phil Spencer claims that a few key projects will live on.

I must say, having the one for a week now , Im really loving it.. As far as the whole graphics thing, im not seeing a difference between both systems , even think the One"s sports better colors on there games .

I'm with you 100%. I purchased my XB1 four days ago and I LOVE it. I have BF4 on both consoles, and the graphics gap is barely noticeable. It's really blown out of proportion.

The problem is... I have no games to play until NHL '15 comes out..

I am loving this console. Got Forza, Killer Instinct and Titanfall.
Still got the PS4 (which will probably remain to be my sports gaming console, advice from ODogg) but love th Xbox. Really hope it sells better!

Well.

The price drop helped a slight bit... but we'll need another month or two to see if the sales got a bump in June from the people that would have bought in May and just waited for the price drop.

It looks like the demand is right around 30,000 units/week, pretty steadily. For the June Tracking period:

PS4 - 269,000 sold
XBOne - 197,000 sold
3DS - 152,000 sold
WiiU - 140,000 sold.

It's still in a strong spot, of course. Being the third-best selling system (launch aligned) to this point in history. It won't ever outsell the PS4, but that shouldn't be their goal at this point.

Thanks for that! You know I don't get the whole xbox vs ps4 debate. I think both consoles are great, graphically I don't see a difference either.

I do like the exclusives on the Xbox more (namely KI and Forza) as opposed to PS4's (Not a fan of either Infamous or Killzone). But what about that little Halo game coming out later this year? Think that will give it a boost?

It will boost it, but how much is the question. I don't think they'll catch PS4. I think their biggest thing though is to make sure their 1st Party AAA titles bring home the bacon. So, it's not really Halo MCC that's gotta do it. It's that beta for Halo 5 Guardians that's gotta really steal the spotlight and it's in a perfect spot to do it as there are no big names around for when that beta comes out. Graphically it has to be superb and it needs to get people over the 1080p 60fps comments.

I think you're right on the money there! I admit I have been a Sony fanboy since the PS1 but sadly there aren't any good exclusives (IMO) that are coming out any time soon! I think if Microsoft could be a little bit more creative and hit hard with some exclusives in order to get that chicken dinner.

Great point. They really just have to sell enough units to really make 3rd party companies put the games on there as well (which they have, vs. the Wii U which hasn't). As long as they sell pretty well Xbox One will be fine. Just happens that PS4 is killing it, but both can do well.

We're 8 months into a 8-10 year console cycle and the gap is less than 1 million units. A Xbox comeback might not be likely, but it's not completely impossible either.
