If they're smaller drives it will be because they're flash, which isn't all bad. Otherwise it gets more expensive to have their own special smaller drives made, and wouldn't be unrealistic to expect large drives in them. Need something substantial to hold demos and stuff.

With rumors of DVR functionality on the next Xbox, pretty sure hard drive space isn't going to be an issue.

Because if any console comes out this year then we all know all sports games for this current generation going to be half arsed due to them spending more time on the PS4 and new 360 version.

I also think they might not make big hard drives anymore for consoles and instead use the cloud technology more. I just hope these consoles have at LEAST 3GB of RAM in them.

I don't know why they haven't realized by now that the lack of RAM these consoles have is bottle necking the true power of game consoles.
Made a slight correction.......I have this funny feeling that we could see the next Xbox in the fall.

RAM and Video cards really needs to be beefed up for the next set of consoles. If Sony plans to succeed, they need to keep the Cell now that developers seem to be getting more antiquated with it and not make another switch on them.

Well Nintendo is trying to get a leg up with their touch screen controller.. Im not excited about that one bit... so we may see it sooner than expected

Still at an alarming price range I dont see these things going off the shelves in droves.. and from looking at people's posts the current sports games have already been half done so whats the difference

Wii has soured me completely of Nintendo products and the franchises I grew up with. I hope the Wii U fails horribly and they abandon it and resort to printing money by bringing their franchises to the other platforms Sega-style.

They're still figuring out what exactly they're doing with that console... recently going back on the 'one touchboard per console' limitation.

Flash drives are bad in the sense you can't watch highlight videos off a flash based HDD. Which is why you had those people who had the 4GB 360 complaining they couldn't see the highlight videos in NCAA 12, FIFA 12 Madden 12 or NBA 2K12

I already quit paying $60.00 for games!(for the most part) If they go to $70.00 I'll never play a new release again. In that I say, "I doubt it."

I'll be so pissed if this comes out before holiday season 2013. I finally bit the bullet and got a 360 on Tuesday, theres no way I'll be ready for a new one, let alone be able to afford it.

                          That's probably what I'll do.

A holiday 2014 release would probably be the best time for me.

I'm not ready for a new console either, which is a good thing.

I just don't feel like shelling out any major cash for a new console, right now. I just bought a new PS3 several months ago and have almost $400 tied up in that purchase. I don't even want to think about what I would have to spend for a new release console + games..

Hopefully when they DO release, I'll still be happy with my PS3 and can wait the initial storm out for some better deals.

I'm probably good for a year or so after the next gen consoles come out. I have SO much catching up to do with games this gen — tons of great games I haven't even touched yet.

To me, the next gen can't be all about better graphics — we've arrived at the point where, honestly, there's not a whole lot of room left for improvement.

And I am not on board with all of the movement-based controller schemes. Just not into that stuff. Same with 3D. Cool, but not a big draw for me.

I'm looking for three main things in "next gen"
                              • Much Advanced Online Play. Everything I can do offline, I should be able to do online. Campaign modes should embrace online co-op. Sports games should all have fully-functioned online leagues. I want to be able to have live look-ins when my friends are playing a league game. It should be extremely easy to pair up with friends online to play.
                              • Smarter Games. Much smarter. I don't want developers to be able to give processing power or other system limitations as a reason why AI is lacking. I need games that remember and react to everything I've done in the past. When I go on a destruction spree in Grand Theft Auto, save my game and boot it up the next day, I want to hear the in-game radio stations talking about it and be able to see street crews repairing busted traffic signals, street lighting, and buildings. When I play MLB The Show, I want pitchers to approach Eric Hosmer cautiously when I've homered with him four games in a row. I don't want to see enemies spawn/materialize in front of me, ever.
                              • More Customization Ability. It's time to move away from the old mindset that console games are static pieces of work. As the internet and social media have grown, so to have people's desires (and ability) to create amazing content. Let's give both developers and gamers the ability to leverage one another to extend the creative process past when the Blu-Ray disc is pressed (speaking of which, I hope we see even more digital distribution). I want to be able to import real ads for stadiums into MLB The Show. Give me map creators for Call Of Duty. Give us the power to edit almost anything about a game. Developers should create the universe, and let the gamers control exactly what it looks and plays like.

I've had the 30 since it came out. I definitely feel this fall would be acceptable. This generation has felt like it's neared its potential to me and it's time for new consoles, innovations, titles, etc.
