I just use the Series S/X 20th Anniversary controller. Never tried the elite controllers, so I don't know what I am missing out on.

As a content creator I am not spending $150 or whatever for an Elite 2 since it's missing the SHARE BUTTON still...will continue to wait on Elite 3 I guess..

Went from an old XBOX 360 wired controller to the official one that is usually on sale for 40$ or so. I'm close enough to the PC that I picked up the one with the USB C cable included and its been great for about a year and a half now.

Dualshocks cost too much and XBOX controllers just feel comfy to me.

You can try adjusting the deadzones of the sticks in DS4windows if you use that or maybe in Windows 10 itself.

I picked up an xbox one controller with the wireless adapter despite not having an xbox. I love that it's just plug n play whereas I always had to fiddle with something to get the PS4/PS5 controller to work on PC.

EA and 2k have the unfortunate task of trying to balance on a tightrope of fun and sim while trying not to fall 10,000 feet to their death. Instead of a safety net waiting down below there will just be angry customers quick to move out of the way and talk of their failure.

I wouldn't give them any money, too many red flags on that site including the price.

A few things do seem to be a little cheaper than usual.

Tiny Tina's for example, is sub-$20 for the first time I think.

                              Pre-load vs. Day 1 install

                              What are people's thoughts?

I guess I have never really paid much attention to this, but a friend of mine told me that he isn't going to preload Starfield because it's always faster for him to just download a new game rather than to preload and wait for it to unpack/decrypt the files.

I did find some people corroborating comments on on a search, but far from definitive.

I do not recall any specific examples, but after thinking about it I do remember thinking that some games took extraordinarily long to "unpack" on release.

Since I lack the download bandwidth speed to actually play an average-sized game on day 1 after downloading it the same day, the choice is basically made for me. And while I do agree that the unpack process can take an unexpectedly long time sometimes, it's still nothing compared to the length of time it takes me to download something.

Steam preloads are still pretty uncommon though AFAIK - this issue doesn't come up very often for me there. It's more of a factor for me with console gaming.
