That's a pretty big deal, I am not even sure they could unload all of it in one transaction unless Microsoft or Apple were interested or they break the units up into more digestible chunks.
There are Microsoft, Apple, Google, Sony, and several large media and investment conglomerates that could buy it whole. Vivendi probably can't afford to piece it out since some parts (Blizzard) are worth far more than other parts that are relatively worthless without that Blizzard/WoW money.
Kotick himself could also form an investment group to buy Activision-Blizzard, he's worth a couple billion on his own. Chances are something like this or some other media/investment conglomerate buys them and nothing really changes.

If Sony or Microsoft bought Activision, the other company might as well not make a console.
Sony is already closing successful 1st party studios and shoulders the overhead for something like 15 others as it tries to cut costs, I don't see how they could be in the picture.
seems like a good time to cash out on their purchase. CoD is still hot, Blizzard just put out Diablo, and development costs for next gen consoles will only get higher.
There's zero chance Sony or Microsoft will buy them. Activision-Blizzard would cost more than the 8.5 billion MS spent for Skype. Their entire business is multiplatform development, so making them console exclusive would be a giant waste of money.
They're just going to sell off their majority share of the company to the open market probably. I believe Kotick has the second largest amount of shares after Vivendi.

Sony is streamlining, closing under performing studios and cutting studios it doesn't need. Sony could easily lay out the estimated 13 billion. They won't, and neither will Microsoft, because there are a lot of redundancies they would be buying that would just be wasted.
Also, Vivendi couldn't dump 60% of the company on the market, stock price would drop significantly and Vivendi would likely lose billions. If Vivendi wanted to just release the company they would have Activision-Blizzard borrow the money and buy the stock from Vivendi.
