    Black Friday Sales Figures 2012

    Holy Crap!!!!!

    360 sells 750K in U.S.

    Xbox 360 Black Friday Report

I just checked the internal data for our Black Friday numbers and wanted to let you know that over the Holiday weekend:

Xbox 360 sold more than 750,000 consoles in the U.S. alone –exceeding internal forecasts.
Three month Xbox LIVE Gold Subscription sales increased more than 50 percent compared to last year’s Black Friday week.
We saw incredible activity on Xbox over the weekend. For example, on Sunday alone we had more than 14 million people on Xbox LIVE across the world, racking up more than 72 million hours of use in just one day.
Compared to 2011, we’ve seen a 43 percent increase in U.S. entertainment application hours logged on Xbox LIVE during the week of Black Friday.

    Edit

    * Note that the official retail reporting calendar runs from Sunday, Nov. 18 – Friday, Nov. 23, so these sales do not reflect Saturday and Sunday retail sales

Re: Black Friday Sales Figures 2012

Wii U launch week: 450k (lower than Wii, better than PS3/360 launches)
    Wii black friday week: 300k

Didn't expect MS to get a 23rd consecutive month at number 1 in the US with the Wii U launch, with this they'll probably keep it until the Wii U drops it's price sometime next year during an otherwise slow month for everyone else.

Nothing from Sony, we can probably expect silence, or some vague 'Playstation products enjoyed success at retail by moving x number of units' without any detailed information by platform.

        Totally, man!

Sony sells 525,000 PS3s in the US during the week of Black Friday

Sony has announced that it sold 525,000 PlayStation 3s and 160,000 PS Vitas in the US during the week of Black Friday.

To put this in perspective, Microsoft sold 750,000 Xbox 360s, and Nintendo sold 400,000 Wii Us, 300,000 Wiis, 2750,000 DSs, and 250,000 3DSs.

Sony noted that its bundle sales grew 15 per cent year-over-year, while its total PS3 sales including hardware, software and peripherals, grew nine per cent. Evidently the Ultimate PlayStation Value Bundle, which included a 250GB PS3, the Uncharted Dual Pack and the inFAMOUS Collection for $199 "quickly sold out at retailers across the US."

Vita sales were lacking in comparison to its competition, but Sony tried to put a positive spin on it by noting that its $199 bundles that were packaged with either Assassin's Creed 3: Liberation, Call of Duty Black Ops: Declassified, or Lego Batman 2: DC Super Heroes sold out at retail. Sony noted that the Assassin's Creed one even sold out in under five hours on Amazon.

“We're very pleased with the Black Friday sales results, especially the incredible reception for the PS3 and PS Vita bundles," said SCEA president and CEO, Jack Tretton. "The demand was very strong which quickly depleted our inventory across retailers nationwide."

Outside of retail, Sony noted that its PlayStation Plus subscriptions increased by 259 per cent since this time last year. This is likely due to the advent of the Instant Games Collection, where subscribers have unlimited access to a select range of games. "Customer satisfaction rates for PS Plus are above 95 percent," said Sony.

'told you so' certainly warranted, that PR is more detailed than their financial statements, unexpected and hope they keep it up

Nintendo had a huge month, I think if Wii U had more units available they would've sold more, some articles I read are dogging it for being 3rd you can only sell what's available. I think they will easily pass PS3 in coming months as more units ship, possibly even 360. Overall a really good month for the industry as a whole.

Look like 360 was the big winner. If they keep selling like this we may never see the 720.
I tried to help out Sony by upgrading my ps3 to the 250 gb but I guess that just wasn't enough.
I think the 300 Wii is the biggest shock to me. I was thinking that console was dead.

I don't think a lot of people know what the WiiU is, so they just pick up a Wii since it is cheaper.

I'm sure you are right. Either that or the Wii U was sold out so they got a Wii as a fall back. Have they said how much longer they are going to make games for the Wii?
