Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
How can Sony not take a lawsuit from a disgruntled parent who walked in on their 12 year old watching live streaming porn?
I understand that it is not Sony who is at fault here, but I could also see a case being made they understood what was happening and did nothing thus resulting in them back peddling then settling out of court to prevent a media showing.
That's my over dramatic view point lol

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
But you can view PS4 streams on the PC though. And what is to prevent a child from simply resetting their console back to factory default which would effectively remove the parental control anyway ?Comment

Lawsuit? What are the damages? Under that theory, you can sue every computer manufacturer that has an internet browser on it.How can Sony not take a lawsuit from a disgruntled parent who walked in on their 12 year old watching live streaming porn?

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
Because any child with internet access seeking porn has such a difficult time finding it unless he has a PS4.
Should it happen? No. But I'm not going to sit here and be "THINK OF THE CHILDREN" guy.Member: OS Uni Snob Association | Twitter: @MyNameIsJesseG | #WT4M | #WatchTheWorldBurn

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
What kids do on computers isn't Sony's problem. Providing a means to both broadcast and receive porn without any parental check on the home console is absolutely a Sony problem and to a lesser extent Twitch/Ustream.

I think the easy fix is to allow parents to password lock playroom. Ask if they want to do it on during initial setup or whenever the password lock update installs for existing ps4 owners.
Shouldn't take very long to add.Comment

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
I'm not saying there is, but I can see it happening. I agree by that mind set that appears true, but I think with how our country is currently (which is another topic) that it could happen.
True, but MS took heat for a "camera in the house". Throw the fuel of instant live porn steams on a console........I could see it stirring a debate.
My thoughts, not saying I agree positive or negative in anyway. I could careless if little johnny saw what I saw the other night. It just spawned a debate A) When/How will it be handled/taken care of. B) Can Sony be held to any liability?Last edited by Phobia; 12-30-2013, 09:17 PM.Comment

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
I'm sure they're covered in their TOS or something somewhere from a legal perspective. It's potentially more of a PR problem if the story gets any bigger.
Parental controls are probably ideal (on the psn account, so a factory reset doesn't matter) but that's more work than just killing streaming of Playroom.

Problem with that is you are killing off any streaming that might happen using the camera.I'm sure they're covered in their TOS or something somewhere from a legal perspective. It's potentially more of a PR problem if the story gets any bigger.

Only real solution I can think of is to give a warning about streamed content (like what most places do with online portions of games) and give account level parental controls for broadcasting and watching streams.Comment
