Gotcha. Yea I wasn't expecting them to be delivered. The email I had gotten was from PayPal. Was wondering of anyone seen any email or confirmation from the site itself after placing their order.

Two of the pieces concept art showed for The Order weren't new, they were some of the first pieces released (the "memorial garden" and "back alley").

Mercenary Kings looks like Metal Slug.

Their Driveclub theory sounds more than plausible, given the title of their VR headset presentation.

                Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion

I'm honestly considering selling my PS4 because the damn thing never wants to connect to my wi-fi network (and when it does it's not very strong). And this is despite the fact that it's in the exact same area where my PS3, Macbook and phone all have no problem being connected to the network and running just fine. But I just learned yesterday that the prices for everything PS4-related (consoles, controllers, games, etc) are going up in Canada, so now I'm second-guessing that.

It's just incredibly frustrating when it takes me half an hour to an hour just to get NBA 2K14 going. I do like the system but it's just been a borderline dust collector for me at this point. I guess it's a good thing that new games are finally starting to come down the pipe with inFamous, The Show, Batman, etc.

I personally would not rely on the wireless router. It really sucked on my PS3, so bad that eventually I spent over a hundred bucks to have a wired connection run from my router on my 2nd floor to my basement where my gaming room is. Great investment. Now my PS4, PS3 and 360 all have wired connections and it is a thing of beauty.

So I was going through the PSN Store on PS4 and was looking at games and thought to myself why are digital downloads full price.

I'm sure it's been discussed, but shouldn't they be cheaper considering there is no case, manual or box art with the game. By us purchasing the digital version we are saving them money and preventing trade ins.

                        Just a thought.

Amazon has had the occasional deal on PS4 digital download codes. I agree that digital should be cheaper in general, but there's probably a lot of BS to deal with between Sony, publishers, and the retail partners that prevents it.

2k should very never tied their game to the online system like they did in the first place. It's ridiculous either way.

That's easy, there is an uneasy relationship between retailers and console makers. Back in the day it was decided to sell consoles at a loss, hoping to make that money back off software and accessories. So console makers went to retailers and made a deal of sorts: you make nothing off selling a console, but make a larger margin on games and accessories. This deal made that console's loss per unit as low as possible while keeping the MSRP on that console as low as possible. This is why retailers are so keen to get you in a bundle rather than just selling the console alone.

So, fast forward to today with digital downloads. If they make digital downloads cheaper, retailers are going to be pissed because that's where they make their money, that's why they carry these consoles to begin with. So, essentially, if they made digital downloads cheaper they would have to lower what they charge store owners so they can make the same returns on the game at that price. There's also the problem of retailers not wanting digital games because they rely on used games as a fair chunk of their business.

There are other considerations for digital games, such as costs of servers and bandwidth, but there's no way they are as expensive as physical production and distribution. Ultimately though, the main problem is that retailer relationship. IMO that Amazon relationship of selling game codes is where the solution has to lie. Give them to retailers with the normal MSRP, but charge retailers less for each sale. Places like Amazon will drive digital game prices down in the retail space, then sometime in the future you can drop the pretense and just make digital games cheaper, then eventually lead to eliminating physical media entirely once internet connections can handle it (IF internet connections can ever handle it).
