    Could have limited it to sharefactory as a way to duck additional licensing costs or something. Not sure why MP3 support wouldn't garner a bullet point in the preview either if it was now a general feature.

      Impressive. Considering Titanfall was supposed to be the system seller.
      NPD math:
      Feb = 258k xbone over 4 weeks (28 days)
      Mar = 311k Xbone over 5 weeks (35 days)

      Avg:
      Feb = 64.5k/week
      Mar = 62.2k/week

      Xbone US sales actually decreased in the month that its biggest game came out, despite price drops and the game being included in a bundle.

      Please note that the image shows only shipped to store numbers for the xbone. I believe actual sold through to consumer numbers were 3 million in early January and supposedly around 4.21 million for the most current numbers.

      Speaking of which let's presume that 4.21m LTD worldwidex bone sales figure is accurate. Let's also presume PS4 is at 7.0m LTD worldwide. If those US LTD numbers are correct then:
      Xbone: 4.21m - 2.53m
      PS4: 7m - 2.91m

      Xbone ROW: 1.68m
      PS4 ROW: 4.09m

      That'd make the xbone's non-USA units sold 41% to PS4. More to the point the xbone's USA<->ROW would be 66% favouring USA, may have been a bit optimistic with the 1.1:1 ratio. PS4's selling 29% of units in USA compared to ROW.

      We know that on Jan 6th "Microsoft sold more than 3 million units of Xbox One worldwide in 2013". We know that on Jan 7th PS4 sold 4.2m units as of Dec 28th 2013. We'll take that as end of 2013 for sake of comparison.
      Bone: >3m
      PS4: 4.2m

      If the figures above are true, then xbone has gained <1.21m units worldwide in the space of 3 months. PS4 would be at 2.8m across the same timespan. That would mean at worst PS4 sold 2.31 units for each bone sold across 3 months.

      In addition to that, let's use NPD figures for 2014, total units sold in 2013 and total units sold now to figure out how bleak ROW sales are.

      Xbone:
      Jan: 141k
      Feb: 258k
      Mar: 311k
      Tot: 710k

      1.21m - 710k = 500k sold outside USA across 3 months. 166k per month average.

      PS4:
      Jan: 271k
      Feb: 286k [Estimate, possibly lower]
      Mar: 371k
      Tot: 928k

      2.8m - 928k = 1.872m sold outside USA across 3 months. 624k per month average. That makes it a 1:4 ratio at best when accounting for worldwide sales? We might really see an announcement of an official price drop during E3.

        Holy math balls, Batman.

        No way in hell did MS ever think they'd have any meaningful sales outside of the US. That's just ignorant on their part, and I think anyone anywhere could tell you that they'd get blown out outside of the US.

        Regardless, we've already had multiple "price drops" for them. I would expect to see stuff like that continue. However, it's still way early and there isn't *THAT* much of a gap. If this stuff keeps up, then worry. Until then, it doesn't really matter.

          Finally got that 10x multiplier trophy. Was a breeze on veteran difficulty. Even knocked out the 15x multiplier shortly after. Only trophy I see standing in my way is one where you have to beat the game on intermediate difficulty without continuing. If I can manage that I should have my first PS4 platinum.

            The Show isn't really a 'big' game. It's a niche title (baseball) in an already niche genre (sports gaming.) Nothing against it, it's been one of the better baseball games over the past ~5 years or so and deserves the sales it gets - baseball gaming just doesn't have that broad appeal that games like FIFA (and even Madden) do.
            I wouldn't classify sports gaming as a "nice genre". The fact that NBA 2K14 is still in the top 10 of sales speaks to this. The nearly 6 month old game came it at number 7 in March in total sales. Madden is a mainstay for many months in top selling games, as was NCAA football when it was around. While I would agree baseball and NHL titles are more niche sports games, we could see that change in the future. As the NHL is becoming more popular in the US, the sales of EA's NHL series have improved. The Show has been declining in sales over the last few years, but I imagine that will change as it is the only legitimate baseball game this year.

              I'm really close to getting the platinum on resogun, I just haven't touched the game in a while. My only two left are beating the game with the two ships I don't use. Haven't gotten around to it!

                I agree that it's no time to completely panic, but I'm pretty sure the people at microsoft are at least a little bit concerned. But, really, all they need to do is not go full on Wii-U and have sales stall completely. I'm interested in seeing what they have planned for E3.

                  Do you have any comparable stats for the PS3/XBox One? As I remember, it was kind of the exact opposite, but the PS3 eventually started to catch up.

                    Once you beat all the levels and know the patterns it isn't too bad with the good boosting ship. Just save as many humans as you can to make sure you get the extra lives along the way. It gets pretty easy to boost your way out of trouble after awhile. I remember the first time I lost my last life with one or two hits to go on the final boss. I was trying to get close enough to hit him or see if I was hitting him and lost track of the mess in front of me.

                      All MS needs are games. There's just no games at the moment from them.

                      If they're smart, they get the NFL license. They can afford it and they advertise the NFL for their "one" in the original advertisement. If they get additional gaming into the NFL, they will rebound in sales.

                        That's a bit silly to say. Titanfall was literally "THE" game (for any system) being pumped up this year.

                        MS has never had the "games" side of things. Their fanbase/core audience isn't known to be "brogamers" for no reason. Look at any of their exclusive IPs that could be called a hit, and you have... what? Halo and Gears of War? Forza, maybe, which Gran Turismo has always outsold (not that sales equal quality of game.)

                        Note: I know I'm saying this and it is just a stereotype (so don't get all offended if you're a huge XBox person. I've owned 4 360s myself), but these stereotypes exist for a very good reason.

                          It will be interested to see E3. Phil Spencer, the new head of the division said the focus will be on games. I'm interested to see if they pull out anything new. Even if it is just a teaser, now is the time for Microsoft to show a ton of new content to hype up the machine.

                            Probably a lot of Quantum Break and Halo 2 HD.

                            Any news (or leaks if you will) on Sony E3 nuggets? I haven't checked recently.

                              Nah Ubernoob, no offense taken. I know what your saying but for me, there's no reason to own one. Titanfall can be played on the 360 or if you wish, wait for Titanfall 2 when it's on the PS4 and you get to play it in 1080/ 60

                              Other than that The Show, WatchDogs, and LOU are 3 games I can't get on the other one. Well WDs exclusives that is.

                              Quantum Break has possibilities but I need to see more. Then again, 1 game?

                              Back to PS4 topic!

                                Yeah, the ship with the best boost ability will be the one I go with. If I'm able to clear the first three levels without dying I should be good with the added extra lives.
