Saw GMSS had played Pure Pool. I downloaded it and it's kind of fun.


We need an OS League


I played, did web design, and was an admin in a Yahoo Pool league for almost 10 years. Virtual pool can be fun with the right people.

The DS4 you get with your PS4 is under warranty for a year, correct? I was playing last night and my left stick isn't registering correctly. I would push certain ways and sometimes my player wouldn't even move. If it did move I had to push up really hard. Same with menus.

I'll probably have to call Sony and get a box (I'm sure we pay for shipping) and in the meantime go by a DS4 at a store. I'll return that one once I get mine back from Sony.

Unless I just buy one and return the ... Nah, I'll do it the right way.

There's some nags I have, like no free camera when you stand up to look at the table and I'm not sure what rule system it follows but it's not APA. It's certainly beautiful though and plays well.

If only they'd fix their damn servers. I can't get an online game in and couldn't create a league either. A league probably won't be doable till stuff's fixed.

Pure Pool has been driving me absolutely insane lately. I was playing a game of Killer in Career Mode last night that lasted for over a half hour -- and the CPU never missed a shot. That's absurd. I was playing out of my mind (after all, I managed to hold out that long), yet I never even had a chance at winning.

Pure Pool has been driving me absolutely insane lately. I was playing a game of Killer in Career Mode last night that lasted for over a half hour -- and the CPU never missed a shot. That's absurd. I was playing out of my mind (after all, I managed to hold out that long), yet I never even had a chance at winning.

It's frustrating to watch the A.I. drop full table length extreme cut shots time after time when it's nearly impossible for us humans to consistently line them up because of lack of camera control.

Yes, every time I've logged on to try to add people to our league (there's about 5 people currently), the player list won't even load up.

According to VooFoo, "Server issues, and the AI issues will be fixed in an upcoming update." The first Pure Pool patch is finished on their end and is going through Sony's approval process right now.

Seems like everyone has the multiplayer problem with Pure Pool. I'll wait before I purchase to see if it gets fixed.


I contacted Sony and they told me to send me DS4 in and they would send me a new one. I didn't know there was a service center in Laredo, TX.

Can you return opened DS4's to stores if you don't want them? I don't need an extra controller, but I also don't want to go 10 days without gaming.

Rumor: Third-Party Developers Are Moving From Xbox to PS4 in Droves
Sony is winning the mind share of not only consumers, but developers.

It’s no secret that the PS4 is selling extremely well. Its launch was the best any console has ever achieved, and it has continued to remain in high demand throughout its first year.

Given its success, it’s not particularly surprising that the PS4 is gaining the attention of game developers and publishers. The result of this is a shift from Xbox as lead platform for many studios. Or at least that’s what one industry insider has observed this week.

Credible industry insider Tidux posted the following on Twitter:

According to Michael Pachter, several companies, including industry giant Electronic Arts, believed Xbox One would establish itself as the top console of next-gen following the Xbox 360′s dominance in North America during the last eight years. However, it became clear once the PS4 and Xbox One were officially announced that such dominance would be unlikely. Sony managed to gamble on GDDR5 memory and win with manufacturing costs cut enough to arrive at a $399 MSRP. The Xbox One’s $499 price tag at launch wouldn’t do it any favors.

Ultimately, game development is a business, and businesses are all about making money. As Ubisoft learned from backing Nintendo with its Wii U early on, the size of an install base is a huge factor that shouldn’t be ignored. The PS4 is simply outperforming both of its competitors in the United States and abroad right now, with no end in sight. Any developer who wants to make the most money possible shouldn’t ignore that.

The Xbox One has some tasteful exclusives coming in the next few months, including Halo: The Master Chief Collection, Sunset Overdrive, and Forza Horizon 2. It’s having trouble competing right now, but things can change at a moment’s notice. Unfortunately, Microsoft has to not only combat Sony’s attractive hardware at the same price, but also fight against its own reputation.

This third-party shift toward PS4 has a lot of consequences for Microsoft. Sony has been able to secure big deals like the one with Bungie for Destiny and Hello Games’ No Man’s Sky, as well as make PS4 the lead platform for the biggest games in the industry. It’s a shift that will only make things harder for Microsoft if it isn’t able to turn the tide.

Just like Sony catching up and eventually surpassing Xbox 360 in sales last gen, I can see Microsoft doing the same thing. Even though the sales gap is almost double, 2015 will be the year to see if Sony just cruises or if Microsoft can catch up.

With rumors going around about companies now starting to prefer PS4 over Xbox One, im hoping a company like Crytek will bring out a double pack including Ryse: Son of Rome and the rumored eventual sequel to PS4. This would be great for me.

The main concern I have with Sony is them getting too arrogant and full of themselves as well as releasing "add-ons" to the console. I think their VR gimmick will fail and could hurt them in the long term.

Somewhat interested in PlayStation TV but at the same time, it pretty much kills off PlayStation Vita which in my opinion, is a bad idea.

I hate to sound like a fanboy.

Eh, whatever, I am sure I will get accused of being a fanboy but this is my honest opinion.

I like my One a lot. I love my PS4.

I don't think Microsoft is going to catch up, honestly, I think Sony played their cards right and has established the idea in people's minds that PS4 is the true "gaming machine."
