These hacks are very difficult to eliminate. Sony will get it fixed. It's sad how many low lifes pride themselves on ruining things for others.

Nothing works for me except my friends list.

            Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion

Are there any net security experts in here? Assuming PSN is down because of another DDOS attack, is there nothing that can be done to help resolve these recurring problems? Aren't there any sophisticated techniques, such as smart algorithms, to deny specific suspicious access requests when the server starts to become overloaded?

Granted, my understanding of large-scale DDOS attacks is pretty limited, but of what I do understand, couldn't repeated pings from a single source be denied if recurring X times per Y seconds/minutes? Or how about some sort of DDOS capture net that exists to reroute incoming pings from certain locales to backup servers that are used only to handle overflow traffic?

I don't know if any of this is feasible with current internet technology, but I was curious. I feel like this happens far too often for solutions to have not yet been devised. I realize that DDOS attacks are outside of Sony's control, but considering that we now pay for online services, I'd really prefer to see our money spent to upgrade the infrastructure. Get some net experts in there to do their thing. It is the prudent thing to do at this point, seeing as how these attack seem to occur every couple of weeks anymore.

High level hackers can basically make the reports to Sony look like high traffic. It's difficult to stop some of these exploits.

Peggle 2 was a decent little pickup for a few bucks. When I first saw the colorful graphics I was like, "nah, this isn't for me" but it's a chill little game.

                    Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion

DDoS attacks look like normal traffic, so there is no way to pre-block any attack. Anything fast enough to process individual requests for legitimacy would be able to process those requests normally anyway so that's no good.

The only way to stop an attack is to be able to handle more traffic than the botnet can generate, and outside of Google you aren't going to find many options with that capacity.

The only thing left is mitigation, and based on how short the more recent attacks have been Sony is spending plenty on mitigation (reacting during the attack to plug up attack sources).

I picked that up along with MGS Ground Zeroes ($6.80) and Super Mega Baseball

If I uninstall a game from my HDD then re-install it later, will I keep all of my game saves?

Yup. The saves will stay on your system unless you manually delete them.

Seems like PSN is down because of all the new people that got PS4's for Christmas. Sony should anticipate these things better.

I couldn't sleep, I woke up at 1:40 am and everything was up & smooth.

I had to log last night because GTAV online was impossible.
