Man,some of you are acting like your whole lives revolve around online gaming.

Point of this post is....? Its clear that some people are upset about this and rightly or wrongly they have reason. This post is just to stick your finger in the eye of those people and is trolling.

Knock it off.

The down time is not really bugging me. I'm still able to play GTA, UFC, Injustice and do My GM in 2K so I'm good. The main thing I needed was the store to come back up so I could take advantage of the sales going on and I was able to do that last night.

I guess I'm a lot more laid back then the average gamer because the rage induced from this "hack" by kids in their mom's basement is comical to me. It's not a hack, no info is gained from a ddos. I also highly doubt it's a bunch of kids in a basement.

Where does the idea stem from that all cyber criminals are kids in basements anyway?

It stems from the movie Hackers that came out in 1995. Mighty good movie and it was one Angelina Jolie's 1st movie she ever did.

Yeah, I can't do anything because of the stupid maintenance message. Can't even logon to webbased to activate the system as my primary. Quite ridiculous. I think I'm not cut out for console gaming anymore. I just want to play games. I don't play online at all. I bought a new gaming laptop from Santa to myself, but I can't play Live since EA has decided to not bring it to PC.

PS4 has given me more errors and downtime than any console period. And that's the direction that gaming is headed unfortunately. I think I'm in a dying breed of gamers that only do the offline stuff.

Im kinda the same way but with all the updates and DLC online it cant be avoided 100%.

I would never buy a game digitally unless the makers offered it at a fair price because you would lose the resale value plus like whats happening now with psn your screwed .

I've been so busy the past few days, but just wanted to play battle islands which takes 5min usually and a few games of super mega. I found it VERY strange that I couldn't play Super Mega, and the only thing that does work for me was netflix, so fine, I didn't play any games.

What I do think is an issue is that this is happening with enough frequency that everyone with psn+ should be pro-rated the number of days the network is down, and maybe weekend days x 2 or something like that.

It's kind of crazy that I can't even play videogames on my videogame console because sony's internet service is vulnerable to hacking.

I don't feel deeply offended or any non-sense like that, but I do think it's wrong I can't play games I paid for, on a console I paid for because a network is down (which I also paid for!)

AT this time of year, either new presents or older folks with a few hours to get their game on it really is horrible timing all-around.

I've been playing Super Mega since I got home from my Xmas family trip last night, it still works fine offline... (assuming your PS4 is activated as the primary console, unfortunately not much WTF can do right now)

You don't have to be online to play a digitally purchased game. All of my PS4 games are digital and I've been playing them while PSN was down. There are some games that require you to be online (Destiny is an example) but that requirement applies even if you have a disc copy.

Just reading about that now, I didn't know that and just assuming it wasn't going to work while the network was down and that was the end of it.

That's if you're the primary ps4 . In my case in my college town I don't have the primary ps4 it's at my folks home.

I don't ever even play games online beside the occasional shooter! I'm mainly offline but still am screwed....NBA 2K roster updates, 2K NBA Today games, GTA is all affected by this downtime. I can't even buy more Playstation Plus time as I have been wanting too. This messes up much more than just "Online Gaming"
