Has Sony fixed the DS4 trigger breaking issue? I just had my R2 hinge break like the common flaw mentioned all over the internet. I called Sony and they told me to throw it away and buy a new one . They told me, they won't work on out of warranty controllers. Seems like a huge waste to just chunk it in the trash over a cheap plastic hinge.

Edit: After doing a little googling, I'm going to attempt to drill out the plastic hinge and add a metal hinge. I'm also going to paint the DS4 while I got it apart, thinking Ragin Cajun red for a ULL theme

That same thing happened to me. I tried to fix it but messed up and had to buy a new one.

It's actually really easy to fix. I just did it to get me by for a bit before buying another controller

Im replacing the hinges with metal hinges so it will last now.

Judging how easy this one was, my second controller im going to do a LSU one.

My right triggers break at the hinge as well. The small plastic pin that holds it in place breaks. I bought 10 right triggers off eBay. I've got 4 left, time to order more. Funny it's only the right one that has issues.

Hinge repair was simple.

First I found correct size metal pin. Then I cut off the plastic hinges from trigger

I then used correct size drill bit to drill out hole for metal pin

Going to cut metal hinge to correct length later, super glue in place so no sliding back and forth. Boom metal hinge good for a long time.

My eject button stopped working. Not a big deal since i can eject through options but I just got this a couple months ago and I'm looking at my old ps3 and never went through 1 issue in years.
