Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
DVD is different, with like a dozen different regions. Blu-ray has 3: europe-africa-middle East-australia, mainland asia, SE Asia-Japan-americasMaybe it's DVD's then ?
I've only ever tried to put a DVD in and it didn't work. I'll have to test this out.
I ordered the entire series of The Shield last year and it won't work and I get an error code because it's a different region. I didn't really look into it beyond that. I assumed DVD and blu ray was the same.
Time to research.. lol.Comment

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
Ah...thanks for the info.. that's my ignorance.
That will definitely change some things then. I also won't be afraid of purchasing Blu Rays on sale anymore. I've seen some great deals and passed on them over the past few years simply because I couldn't play them.Last edited by AUChase; 05-13-2016, 11:07 AM.Comment

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
It's funny, after our groupme talks about BF I was thinking I really want the PS4.5 to launch before BF1 so it can run at max performance. Hope the rumors are true.
Hope I can get decent value on a trade inLast edited by The JareBear; 05-13-2016, 12:59 PM."Successful people do not celebrate in the adversity or misfortune of others."

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
Either way, games after November all have to be built with 'Neo Mode', and I believe games in the September/October launch will have to have a 'Neo Mode' patch... if the internal documents are anything to go by.
Now how much of an improvement the developers will take advantage of is on them. I expect Battlefront and Battlefield 1 to at least be patched for 1080p bare minimum, and more graphical effects if they decide to. Considering how scalable their engine is, I am sure they will want to showcase what it can do on the new console.

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
Games that get released on October 1st and afterwards must have a "neo mode" on the disc. Console will choose the correct mode on it's own. Games released on September 30th and earlier are not required to ship with a "neo mode". A "neo mode" patch is entirely up to the publisher. I expect major titles (FFXV, Uncharted 4, etc.) to get the update but minor or moderate titles are probably 50/50 at best.Comment

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
As much as I'd love to upgrade to this new 4K PS4, I'd rather spend a bit more money and just build a gaming PC that can legitimately put out 4K resolution. Even then I'm not in a huge rush to hop on the 4K bandwagon just yet.Xbox LIVE GT: oALEXtheGREATo

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
Someone's gonna come in here and tell you the newer ones are whisper quiet. I still have my launch PS4, loud sometimes yes but no issues either so far.
Only some games make my PS4 sound really loud like that, this new UC4 is one of them.Comment

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
The only time my PS4 fans were noticeably loud was with Rocket League, a couple years ago. That was an issue with the game itself though.
Have you been placing them in the same location each time? It could be a ventilation problem. Or possibly some type of high frequency vibration (no pun intended, lol) going on.

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
Just posted this in the Uncharted thread for cleaning the PS4 fan to reduce noise and heat.
It does work, and depending on people's home conditions (pets, etc.) it may vary, however, those who have done this on reddit and NeoGAF has noticed favorable results more often than not.

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
Mine is extremely well ventilated and rarely gets the crazy can sound. Rocket league did it to mine as well. Then the update fixed it. UC4 now does it to my system currently. The only time my PS4 fans were noticeably loud was with Rocket League, a couple years ago. That was an issue with the game itself though.

But I've had no issues other than the annoying sound. Nba 2K16 used to sometimes do it too.Comment
