Oh ok I was wondering because back with ps3 I got the YLOD and I had no idea how to back up any thing at the time like even to a USB drive and of course to do it this way you cant do it if your old system will not even turn on. When it comes to external I have no idea. But the thing is if you want to do the trade in thing for a ps4 and also do this you would have to get the NEO and then trade in the old ps4 after or find a story that will transfer the stuff for you. So I think it may be easier to just do the trade in and then redownload all your dlc and reinstall all of your games. That is why I hate not having memory cards and having hard drives. Makes things more of a pain in the butt.

You can actually use a USB flash drive if it is large enough (and not transferring hundreds of GB's of games), and not have to worry about an external HDD. The external is only needed if you have way larger than any USB flash drive size.

I prefer to NOT copy over all the games. Just the P.T. demo and saves, due to it being MUCH faster to just insert a disc and install off of that, or DL from PSN. Transferring tons of data takes hours of downtime... where I can have PSN games reinstall when I am not home using the website while the PS4 is in rest.

Only issue would be those with data caps on their internet, then I understand the 'copy everything' method.

You can select what games or apps to back up. I do not worry about backing up saves since they always copied over fine, and are also in the cloud storage worst case. But if you are OCD then it does not hurt to do a back up as well, lol.

Note: It says saves do not copy over, but it may be out of date, because all of mine did when I put the new HDD in just before UC4.

Damn, kinda upset I didn't get on the beta. Sounds like most people are impressed which is good to hear. I wonder when the actual update comes out.

Judging by the Playstation Event for Sept. 7th, and they added 'Transfer Data to New PS4' in there... I would speculate just before, or around that time.

I thought this game looked cool back when they showed it at E3 for the first time but the only thing is I don't play online and I think it is a online only type of game.

Well I have no idea how to use the cloud lol and you cant backup DLC to a USB drive and so it takes a well if you have to redownload all the dlc. I will book mark those links for when I need them. Chances are if you have PS+, you have them auto-uploading to the 'cloud' on their own.

To see them, just go to Settings > Application Saved Data Management > Saved Data in Online Storage.

There you will see several options, even the Auto-Upload one. Make sure it is checked on and you will be fine (usually is by default). Like I said before, it copies saves over now too, so it is not detrimental to physically back them up separately to a USB drive.

It is much easier than it sounds, and after you do it, you will be shocked how easy it is. If you ever do it down the road, just PM me, I can walk you through it very easily if you get stuck.

Question about PS Vue -

If I have my Paypal as my default payment, will it just deduct the monthly payment? Do I need to turn on the option of auto renew?

The Credit Card you needed to sign up with Vue is used as backup only (and part of the billing address check).

Vue looks to Wallet Funds first, so if you set, Automatically Add Funds to Renew Subscriptions or Pay for Pre-ordered Content to Yes, then it should add funds to pay out to Vue from the Paypal on file.

If you have it set to No, then you must manually add funds to the Wallet before the billing date each month, if that is how you prefer to pay for Vue.

Confirmed: Sony Has Rolled out 2-Step Verification in Select Regions

Do you guys think we will get more news about the spiderman game before December? I am really looking forward to that game even though we don't know much. Spiderman is my favorite superhero and being that the game is being made by the people behind Ratchet and clank and not a movie tie in with activision gives me a lot more hope that it can be a good spiderman game. Cant want to hear more about the game but would like to not have to want in till December when Sony does that special show thing they started a few years back.

Report: PS4 4.00 Firmware Includes Game-specific Privacy Settings, Control Over Download Order, and New Download Estimates

A few changes have been found with downloading PlayStation 4 games and apps. One user has reported that the Downloads menu now shows two estimated times for downloads: one for completion and one for when the app can be launched. For those downloading multiple games or items, the download order can be set manually or prioritized. No more pausing all of the downloads to manually select which one to go next.

Do you guys think we will get more news about the spiderman game before December? I am really looking forward to that game even though we don't know much. Spiderman is my favorite superhero and being that the game is being made by the people behind Ratchet and clank and not a movie tie in with activision gives me a lot more hope that it can be a good spiderman game. If Sony shows Spider-Man again this year, it would most likely be at PSX in December. Insomniac just recently started full development on the game and I would say that it's a 2018 release. Game is being built from the ground up using their Ratchet and Clank engine and Marvel wants the game to be of excellent quality which is why they went with Sony, decided that it would be a PS4 exclusive and then settled on Insomniac as the developer. The wait will be long but easily worth it in the end in my opinion.
