    Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion

If this has been discussed in here already than please forgive me. When I went into GS today to get TF2 I also picked up a PSN+ sub card and apparently the 50 dollar ones are still valid even with the price increase. Just a heads up to save a little cash that way.

    Thanks for your time

I was starting to wonder why I didn't see anything being said about it at all. Guess it makes sense now.

I don't like that a 14 or 15-year old can put on a VR headset and mimic everything about a war (holding/shooting a gun, knifing a guy, etc.) - I feel the line between realism and VR would get dangerously close.

As I said...maybe I'm off and there should be no concern but that's just my opinion.
You have a right to opinion but I can't disagree more.

No different than wanting to blame GTA for some kids that are violent.
If games and cartoons were really harmful I'd have probably broken the serial killer records by now due to Tom and Jerry alone.

Getting proper parenting and limits if needed, is what's needed.

Need to start raising our kids and stop expecting the government to do so.

It has always been theory and unfounded and wrongfully held theory at that.

As I said, putting studies aside, games, media and music have become more and more violent and realistic yet violent crimes and murders continues to decrease from 1950 forward to our present.

So cold, hard statistics and reality trump unfounded theories and studies, which are typically based upon people who have an agenda, every single time.
Easy killer. I was talking about a study by Albert Bandura in the 50s that showed that kids are more aggressive in their behavior after witnessing aggressive behavior. I'm pretty sure he had no agenda about videogames or movies. Note that I said witnessing aggressive behavior can and not does increase aggressive behaviors.

I don't think you can just say that because murders are going down even though violence is more real in entertainment, that there is a cathartic effect from violence in media. There are a ton of factors that go into rates of violence.

But it's beside the point. If parents/caregivers do their job and explain the difference between violence on TV/movies/games and real life, then the child most likely will not have their behavior affected much.

            Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion

Jeez....a lot of posts in the last day. A few tidbits -

            1. Regarding real life violence and video game violence. The difference is actually very simple. One is real and one is fake like movies, TV, etc. Video Game violence does NOT make people more violent. And those who think that or use that as an excuse is already borderline a nut job and needs to be sent to a mental institution. Simply, video game violence is basically just an excuse to cover up what the person did violently. Going back and seeing people use Manhunt and GTA (among many others) as what caused people to be violent in reality is such a joke. Real life violence existed since the beginning of time and since video games didn't exist, it's obviously not because of video games. If people are violent, it's simply because they are naturally violent, are psychopaths, need some serious help and just use video games (or whatever) as an excuse to try to get away with what they did.

            2. Regarding violence in PSVR.....I don't think anyone can ever be violent after playing PSVR (or VR in general) simply because I think that you would be too tired and disoriented to be violent. LOL. :P

            3. Regarding PS4 PRO, less than two weeks ago baby!!! Can't wait. I picked up Titanfall 2 today, Battlefield 1 a week ago, COD next Friday, Watch Dogs 2, ROTTR, FFXV and Mafia III in November and December for me and hell yeah, im ready baby!!!

            4. Finally, WIRED controllers FTW!!! LOL. I still use the USB charging cable for my PS4 and Xbox One as I don't like playing wireless because the few times I have, the responsiveness just seemed off to me. But in general, this is one of those, to each their own type of things.

You do realize that until 4.0 on the PS4 that even plugged in with a USB the Dual Shock still was wireless and just the battery was being charged and the wired perk was a non factor on the PS4. So plugged in or not the performance on the DS4 before 4.0 was wireless

TF2, BF1, and ROTTR will be keeping my PS4 (soon to be Pro) very busy until FF15 drops

Know about the battery staying charged but didn't know about the wired perk but the few times I didn't connect the USB cable, the response time was off. I could feel and see the difference. Keeping the USB cable connected, I have never had a problem or felt like the controller wasn't responsive so that's why I always connect the USB cable.

yea you are not getting wired latency when you connect the USB to your dual shock 4 prior to the release of the slim. So you just had placebo affect because all the usb did was charge the battery. Once the slim came out the new firmware made it so that when you connect the usb cord it has an option to keep blue tooth on and just charge like always or make the controller wired with the usb which turns off the blue tooth...
