    Streaming tomb raider

    Three options for 1080 displays

Unlocked frame rate , which feels great
Enhanced visuals, which I guess just adds those little extra details
4k resolution , I assume this is just the regular 30fps game with supersampling . It's a clear improvement in picture clarity and I prefer it over enhanced visual mode on my 1080p BenQ but the unlocked frame rate mode feels so smooth it's hard to resist

Gonna upload some stuff and move on to BF1

Just picked up the PS4 Pro. I was able to save around $70 by getting it from Target compared to Best Buy! There's a 10% Wishlist coupon I used along with a 5% Red Card coupon.

Looking forward to setting it up this evening.

My kids are buying me a Pro for my birthday this afternoon after they get off work.

So pumped for them to arrive with it. Gonna use my Gamestop money I had on a Pro on games instead.

Well yup that was the case. Oh well so much for being clever. Knew something involving electronics could not be smooth and easy. If this is the most challenging part of my day, hell Im good.

Yeah, my connection, for whatever reason, just isn't cutting it for 1080 streaming. A shame. Hope I can get it patched up on my end

well, for some compressed video crapness here is my twitch stream of ROTTR. Pictures will probably do a better job but that will have to wait

                <iframe src="https://player.twitch.tv/?video=v100208974" frameborder="0" scrolling="no" height="378" width="620"></iframe><a href="https://www.twitch.tv/undefined?tt_medium=live_embed&tt_content=text_lin k" style="padding:2px 0px 4px; display:block; width:345px; font-weight:normal; font-size:10px; text-decoration:underline;">Watch live video from on www.twitch.tv</a>

and a youtube clip I uploaded.

My bottom line on ROTTR for 1080p Pro Mode

If you are looking for the smoothest gameplay, go with unlocked frame rate. It feels great, butter. Silky smooth.

if you want improved image, go with 4k resolution. The enhanced visuals mode doesn't do anything extra with AA or clean up the picture at all, just adds small little details in various hard to notice spots. The 4k resolution mode which is super-sampling for 1080p owners (at 30 fps), cleans up the image a decent bit and smooths out the edges all over the screen, improved sharpness in distant objects very noticeable.

Regardless which way you go, game looks great on vanilla PS4 and even better on Pro.

                Ratchet and Clank

                <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/VTJEBcm374A" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

Ratchet and Clank looks amazing at 1080p on Pro. The supersampling and temporal injection or whatever they call it is very noticeable. No jaggies, super crisp screen. Fresh as hell. Looks amazing.

If every game going forward treats 1080p on Pro like TF2 and RatchetClank do then we are gonna be very happy 1080pers.

As of right now a couple games have shown not much visual improvement at all, quality wise (CoD:IW, CoD:MWR, and inFamous, but inFamous has the frame rate mode which is awesome). Top two performers on Pro mode 1080p so far for me are TF2 and Ratchet and Clank. Third is Paragon, and fourth is ROTTR (in either 4k resolution mode or unlocked frame mode, the enhanced visuals mode is a waste of time IMO).

Still need to dip into BF1 and Dishonored 2, though for Dishonored 2 I will have nothing to compare it to.

I took a bunch of screens will upload later in bulk.

Time for some domination and conquest in BF1

What resolution was Ratchet and Clank in without the PS4 Pro? I swear that video in 1080P looks just like it does on my PS4 (I'm sure it's improved, just curious what the bump was to).

The screens I will upload might do a better job. As with all this, I still think it only really viable to see it for yourself live in person. The screens and videos I have uploaded look far less impressive (especially the vids) than the game looks when I am actually playing.

It's not your internet, it is the PS Pro CPU isn't fast enough to handle streaming 1080p 60fps. I can stream 1080p 60fps all day long with my El Gato HD60 Pro or I can do the same thing with just OBS.

Streaming is heavy dependent on the SPEED of the CPU.

PS Pro CPU speed is only 2.1ghz. If the CPU can't encode it fast enough, don't matter how fast your internet is, the video have to be encoded 1st and that is done via your CPU.

Thanks for the tip. I guess I was just confused because the guy who got it early from Walmart streamed at 1080p/60 and his videos seemed crisp as hell, while mine seem like doo-doo. Oh well.

I mean in the menu for the game (like Tomb Raider offers lots of graphic choices) Can you pick and choose several options?
