It does frustrate me at how cheap Sony got with this latest hardware update. Removing the optical output on the Slim is something I really dislike and not having a UHD drive on the Pro sucks. I know everyone is moving to streaming movies now but 4K streaming requires a lot of bandwidth and good internet speeds. I wonder if there will be a shift back to physical with 4K or if 4K is will just be slow to adapt?

Right now I don't think many people will buy TVs without 4K in the near future as the prices continue to fall. By the end of 2017 I'm guessing the vast majority of TVs will all be 4K and yet the content isn't there. My satellite provider (Bell) doesn't even do 1080p and fibreoptics aren't in my area. Will be interesting to see how people are consuming 4K as it grows.

Don't want to turn the PS4 thread into a TV discussion thread nor dispute Sony's failure of providing the necessary tech services for 4k, but we may not see many cable companies upgrade to 4K technology but wait for 8k instead. Technology is costly and, 4k is nothing when compared to 8k but 15 years down the road for true broadcast? I think it'll be sooner.

The images are so sharp that they look like moving printed photographs; there is absolutely no evidence of pixelation even if your face is an inch from the set. That’s not a realistic viewing scenario, but on the production side of the equation, it means digitally zooming an image without affecting picture quality will be a reality.

Of course, it’s way too early to buy in, especially with the lack of 8K content out there. There’s literally none. But networks and cable companies will likely wait for the 8K era to upgrade their equipment, meaning this super-high-def resolution might have a brighter future than 4K for traditional content distribution.

Does he want a white one for a reason? Because you're basically ripping him off since he can buy a new Slim with a game for $229 on Amazon right now. Granted, he's getting 500GB more space, but still.

Well no, but I'm also giving him some of my games and this system is still under an extended warranty as well for another year. I checked online and the prices for the white Destiny collectors also seems higher than a regular PS4 by a bit.

Ok, now you got me thinking...so I just checked Amazon and the slim is $249 (that I saw unless you're looking at something else) which is basically what I'm selling him my system for. So buying mine gets him a PS4 with a digital optical, several other games, double the storage space and it's fully under warranty through Squaretrade, which is actually superior to Sonys warranty.

I don't think I am ripping him off at all considering all of that. Sure my system is used but barely, its a system that I bought and put in my living room and has been used maybe 15 times.

Also, not sure if it matters or not really but he is a player in my fantasy league and he is basically going to use the money he has won in my league in exchange for the PS4. So being in my league he'll win a PS4 instead of money.

I'd like to hear other peoples thoughts though, I definitely do not want to take advantage of anyone.

you're selling him an outdated used system with used games. Yes you're ripping him off no matter how you try to sugarcoat it.

That said, if he wants to pay that then thats on him for not doing the research or negotiating.

EDIT: Let me slightly backtrack, its not technically a bad deal. But man if that was my buddy i would have gone with $200, I would feel bad selling it to him that high. IF its a random dude, then maybe i'd do the same deal

Well I don't think so really but I hear you guys and I don't want to rip him off....so I've decided that I'm going to give him an extra dual shock and I'll buy another for my new system

Well the screen goes black for anywhere from just a millisecond to 30 seconds and it appears as if the picture signal is lost, then the HDCP handshake occurs and all is well..have heard it happening anywhere from every blue moon to near constant depending upon your TV.

I thought, originally that this was just for 4K sets and I don't have one yet so wasn't worried but talked to some folks on Facebook and have found out it happens with PSVR and just regular HDTVs.

I know these issues can go from being relatively minor to OMG the sky is falling when people get to talking about them so I'm just wondering if any of you cats here who have PS4 Pro have had such issues?
