I don't even see how this is a question. The Show is gonna have pro support which will probably fix known frame rate issues and obviously be at least upscaled to 4K. And God of War will be a graphically intensive game, probably in native 4K. And don't forget about boost mode, which will help non Pro enhanced game run better.
I just think it's worth the extra money to have a more future proof console at this point, especially if you have a 4K TV. And I know you, you will probably regret not getting the Pro and then get one and wind up spending more money than you would have if you just got the Pro in the first place.
Unless it's solely about money, then I don't see any reason to not get the pro.
Like I was saying I maybe out of the norm, but from all the video comparisons I don't see a huge upgrade in graphics. Honest. I still think the slim and the regular PS4 still look great, plus I'll be honest again, I'm a huge baseball fan and I know the Show will still look and play great on the slim. I just want a slim for the Show, plus even though it wont be 4k it still does HDR which I can accept just fine. Plus I have way to much invested in my Xbox that I'll just be playing the PS4 for the Show and maybe a few other games. I thin k I'm going with the Slim at this moment.
I guess your right but I still haven't been that impressed just yet. All I truly want a P4 if for the SHOW. Just going on what I'm seeing in the video comparisons and from many videos I have seen thus far the visuals haven't been that mind blowing at all. I may just have to game on one myself to see I guess.
The game that impressed me most is Shadow of Mordor. I had that game on regular PS4 and it was ok but didn't grab me. After I got my PS4 Pro I played it and I've probably got 40 hours into it, it looks amazing and I am still on a 1080p tv.
But even if you're not impressed with it, that's understandable, consider that you will really regret it when you start seeing games optimized for the Pro drop left and right in the next year.
If it was $200 I could see maybe the reason to not buy it but for $100 difference it's a no-brainer if you game much to get the Pro.
I'm gonna get a better one for the living room once my tax return comes..... But I'll tell you what this 40' Samsung I have in the room was a steal for 279... I got it for Christmas the manufacturer date on it is November 2016.... It wasn't even a month old from the factory.
even though it wont be 4k it still does HDR which I can accept just fine.
Uh no, that HDR is not real HDR and if you read about it that feature has been widely slammed as virtually worthless. If you get a slim that's fine but go in knowing what you're getting and do not buy it if you want HDR.
For real HDR you need to get the Pro.
And right now, games need the Pro to actually use HDR because it's tied to 4K.
4K pairs with HDR and "there aren't any current plans to change that," says Netflix.
If you didn't have a 4K tv it'd make a bit more sense for you to get the Slim, and you can do what you like, but I just think you will really regret saving a bit now and not future proofing for later.
The only reason to buy a Slim when you have a 4K tv is if you simply don't have the money and cannot afford one IMO

Yeah the slim won't do HDR..... On my samsung it gives me a notification everytime it goes into HDR mode
The differences graphically between the pro and the OG ps4 isn't something that's too noticeable watching YouTube videos. The difference is substantial in some games especially if you have a 4k tv with HDR.
HDR isn't a big deal to me personally, mainly because of the pain it causes if you use PSVR, I'm not making more wires to have it split between 2 inputs and I'm also not unhooking and rehooking back up stuff everytime I want to use the VR unit.
Along with what Rudy said, they went cheap on that junction box for PSVR.
I don't miss the optical input, because I haven't used one in years anyway. But I get the want for it. I just wish the PS4 had 4 USB inputs, 2 in the front and 2 in the back. The Slim should have at least the rear one like the Pro does.
Sony went cheap on both. The Slim doesn't have an optical output and the Pro doesn't have a 4K drive. Both should have been added imo.
I agree about the Slim but I see why Sony didn't add the 4K drive to the Pro. People aren't buying discs and going to streaming. I used to buy 2 or 3 movies every 2 weeks when I got paid. But now we stream or buy digital for everything. I have bought exactly one DVD/Blu-Ray in the past 2 years and that is for my wife when she was about to travel I got her Pitch Perfect 2 to watch on the plane.
With that being said, how the heck is Sony not already offering 4K movies to rent or buy in the PSN store?
I am about to buy a 4K set and I have no way to play discs thanks to no 4K drive and that would be fine but I would like to be able to rent and buy movies via the PSN store but there aren't any.
And yes I know I can do that elsewhere but my movie "collection" is on the Playstation Video so I'd really like to keep the majority of my movies there and not scattered all about.

I'm sure it is in person, I'm on youtube a lot and there are many videos comparing he Pro playing in HDR 4k vs 1080p Ps4, and the difference to me is slight from what I can see. When I read the comments a lot of people who bought the Pro seem to be kinda unhappy with all the comments I'm reading thus far , saying they wasting money, and I don't wanna waste money.

You do realize that if you're not watching those videos on a 4K PC monitor that of course you will see no difference right? You can't watch 4K content for comparison purposes on a 1080p monitor.
I can only speak for myself but from the games I've seen that support the Pro (Nioh and Shadow of Mordor) I am very happy with the Pro. Then the fact that Boost mode will give ALL games a boost is even better.
I wouldn't listen to all the whiners you don't know who you see on the net too much as people just like to complain. If you bought a PS4 Pro thinking all your games will look like a huge difference better then you're a moron and sadly enough, most people out there actually *are* morons.
Keep in mind, you're buying a Pro less about what is out now and more about what is coming down the road.
I'll be getting a slim in a couple of days. I was thinking about the pro, but I don't own a 4K TV and the price difference for me isn't really worth it for boost mode. I'm also very stingy as well. Very excited though.
