It's not the consoles (well not the PS4). I have no doubt that there will be someone who is going to start it off first and if EA does go 1st, I will easily boycott them. I may lose, but I'll go down fighting. Let them see the backlash and hopefully defeat it head on.

Yes, and the part you bolded is not a quote from them, nor does it imply all consoles. The article is about the XBox One DRM and how third parties would respond. The way it was worded was meant for single player games as well as online, since the blog writer mentioned "season pass" the sentence before.

So if you are implying that bold part meant "all consoles" such as the PS4, enough to post it here and bold it, I think you misunderstood the bloggers meaning.

Not to say we won't see it, one form or another, because I do trust EA/Activision/Ubisoft to ultimately lean on the side of profits over the freedom that the consumer had since the beginning of gaming.

Sports here....since EA sucks in not improving and not releasing NHL for new consoles, im skipping NHL. But I'll buy NBA 2K and the Show... I dont have ps3, my game time is limited to get both 360 and PS3. So this will be my first time to play The Show . For non-sports, I'll be getting Watchdog on release date.

Seriously look how good MLB The Show played and LOOKED on the PS3 I can only imagine what they will do with it on the PS4. I can't wait for Madden, NCAA, NBA 2k, Tigers Woods and NHL on the next gen next year. Getting Madden 25 and NBA 2k14 on next gen this year, but I can only imagine how good these titles will be a year from now.

Not that I was too worried either way since I'd mainly use the cloud gaming aspect to play PS2, PSP, or PS3 games which we knew we were getting anyways.

You will also be able to stream PS3 games on the PS4 in 2014. To my knowledge I don't believe Microsoft has anything planned for Xbox 360 games on Xbox One.

We knew this was going to happen. That whole spin MSFT was using, was just that, to look less inferior power wise.

You can play 360 games on the XBOX1.

You just have to put your 360 on top of the XBOX1 when you play.

I dont anticipate EA doing anything stupid with DRM. They have seen how much people already hate them, now they saw how everyone responded to MS' DRM system.

I never anticipated the companies bringing in the Online Pass either but they did...

It won't surprise me one bit if companies start bringing in DRM, but I do agree that the reaction to MS has caused them to think a bit. Still, if something makes them money and cuts down piracy then they'll love it.

I assume, while you can Stream your PS3 games to the PS4.. we're still not in the days of being able to play those PS3 games online on the PS4.

Piracy is spin. It is about used games and the profits lost to them.

But online passes were a reasonable compromise imo. I didnt hurt me much at all. MS is going beyond the call. I know EA already vowed that online passes were dead. Thats a good sign. I hope they dont do anything reckless.
