Anyone think if Scorpio is announced at a lower price point than the Pro, we might see a price drop on Pro?

Would love to share the experience with y'all but childcare for our 3 year old is like a second mortgage payment. And with one on the way in next month can't justify it to my wife. Even tried the "well you'll be on maternity leave, wouldn't you love to watch movies in 4K". Her response "nice try, I'll just use Netflix".

I don't know much about business or anything along those lines but my gut reaction is yes, I would hope so at least.

If Scorpio is 500, I don't see a drop coming. If it's 450, then maybe Pro drops. If it launches for 400 or even less somehow, I'd imagine Pro would have to drop to compensate, right? Unless Sony thinks that first party titles are enough for justify charging the same, or close to the same, of a competitors superior machine?

I dunno though, just thinking out loud

The Pro will be $350 this fall. No question. May even have a pack in game. I can see a Spider-Man edition for $350

Man I'm still pissed, can get my PS4 to be Primary, Sony support is terrible.


Ill just have to use it this way for now. I can still play my games, But I just wanna know what other fool who may still have one of my old PS4 as there Primary. I know it could still be my fault.

About the only thing I can think of is to call customer service and ask if they can locate a local one within driving distance you could get today and/or tomorrow. Or have you already tried that route?

According to their site, none available in a 250 mile radius.

GameStop does have some in stock and they will give me $170 for my PS4, which is what I was selling it for and this way I don't have to deal with someone from Craigslist. Going to try to do that tonight and take back the system to Best Buy when I get it on Tuesday or whenever it comes.


Guess I will just do the cloud save option and redownload reinstall my games. Before I trade it in and pick up pro, deactivate as primary and wipe it clean?

I have traded in at least four different PS4 consoles and I simply delete all the saved game data, applications, themes, etc. Then, I'll create a new user titled "user1" and then delete my actual username. Finally, I deactivate the console.

I have never reformatted the hard drive or anything like that and have never had a problem. I have traded in three of the consoles to GameStop and sold one to a friend/co-worker.

My prediction regarding prices remains the same. Scorpio launches at $400, PRO drops to $300 with a 1TB hard drive but no game, PS4 Slim and Xbox One Slim drop to $200.

Yeah I could see that. I do wonder if PRO will maybe up to a 2 TB hard drive though. If Scorpio is more then 400 and those other things happened then Scorpio would be in trouble.

I'm probably not writing anything that hasn't been said....but here's my initial thoughts on my PS4 to PS4 Pro upgrade today.

What struck me right away is even the dashboard seemed sharper with more color depth and contrast! I use the dynamic Star Trek: TNG theme and I was noticing more details on the Enterprise and Borg cube, too. But even just the text present on the dash, and all the pictures for the games and apps just....POP.

Gaming wise....even un-boosted games are sharper, again with the added touch of color depth. And this even extends to a game like Star Trek Online, which is a decent looking game but nothing like Horizon Zero Dawn. But again, it looks even clearer in the ways I've mentioned.

Great system so far. I kinda think Netflix still looks a bit better on my Xbox One S, and that is still going to be my 'movie machine' for BluRays, 4k BluRays, Netflix, etc, but damn....the games look so great on the Pro now. Certainly not a quantum leap, and some games are more dramatic than others but it all feels more next gen and keeping up with my Sammy KS8000 much better.

I was willing to sit out this system as a PS4.1 type thing that wasnt really necessary, but so far I am finding it is definitely worth it.

A worthy upgrade!


NOTE: The wife backed this move because she's buying my PS4 for 200.00 (includes a fresh 2tb Firecuda and Horizon Zero Dawn). So, everybody wins! And......she's been playing Horizon since 5pm......and is still playing with only a 20 minute break for dinner! LOL
