Yea if you have had multiple ps4 and don't deactivate them when you get rid of them and can be a problem.

So, I'm getting the problem with my PS4 Pro in that the screen goes black for 5-10 seconds and then comes back on and resumes. It happened with my original PS4 (however before I could still hear the audio) and now my PS4 Pro (no audio can be heard). I thought it was an issue with my tv initially. It's occurred with my 2015 Vizio and have since replaced it with a 2016 Samsung.

I'm assuming it's a handshake issue, and wonder if it could be my Sony receiver. That's the only thing I haven't changed out. It seems rather strange that I'd have the same problems with the PS4 and the PS4 Pro.

Any thoughts or suggestions? It's very annoying and frustrating.

I have this issue sometimes and I think it's a handshake issue with my HDMI splitter I have. If I disconnect the splitter and just run the pro to one display instead of 2 it doesn't seem to happen.

That does sound like your receiver is the issue. I'd run straight from the PS4 Pro to the TV for a few days to see if you get the issue. If you do then you'll know it's your receiver. I'd maybe try other cables first and consider updating the firmware on your receiver if you do narrow it down to that.

If he runs it straight from his Pro then he'll have no problems. His description of his issue explains it all, def the receiver.

One little niggle that annoys me about my Pro (and this seems to be a thing for others as well, at least on the official Playstation forums) is that my Sammy KS8000 'forgets' that a Playstation game console is plugged into HDMI 3, and the input just says HDMI 3 after a day or so instead of 'PS4 Pro'. The OG PS4 never had that problem on the same input, and in fact knew from day 1 it was a 'Playstation'.

And this tv seems all up in M$ pocket as my tv not only ALWAYS knows that my Xbox 360 and Xbox One S are hooked up, but they even have specific (and correct) controller pics for each systems controller lol.

Kinda think there are some little ID/handshake fixes to work out still (like occasional black screen flashes after playing HDR games next time you use the system; reboot fixes this), but still lovin' the Pro regardless.

Weird my Samsung always says PS4 (I have the pro ) and Apple TV in the next port.

Mine also says PlayStation all the time. It's just a blue box though. The Xbox one box has the Xbox logo last I remember.

I have the Samsung KS850D which is the same as KS8000 except curved and I don't have that problem with it forgetting the input ID. Strange.
