I bought 3 games included in that deal and didn't get a code. I went to the Support area on the forums and was told the codes will be sent out around November 21st.

I hate that kind of stuff. Not the delay itself, but the worry that I myself will forget or I don't have a good enough evidence trail to link back to the fact that I was owed something in return... or that it's so far removed that they simply go, "What?"

In all fairness, it normally seems to work out though. I'm not just talking about PSN. I remember in Best Buy's Magnolia center, there are times where you could get 4x bonus points, but they took like three months to go through and there was no real record of showing it anywhere prior to. It would always eventually happen, but I just didn't understand/trust that the system would do what it was supposed to.

Huh? Why would you activate HDR for non-HDR content? If they wanted you to do that, they would have let you by themselves. They're not trying to lock you out of good benefits here. If it's non-HDR, that's because it's not HDR-graded.

It's like upconverting from 2D to 3D, or upmixing from two channels to surround sound. When it's not done at the studio, you're relying on the device to do a virtual version of what is there, often to rather poor results.

I'm interested in hearing results from a videophile with a calibrated set, and a good general idea of what good HDR should look like on how it performs. I'm still skeptical about HDR in general as an incomplete technology because how there is no standard for it, be it the content or the televisions that operate with them.

I mean I understand what correct HDR looks like especially after playing Gran Turismo and Horizon, but I can see with my own eyes a few minor details and better clarity when doing it that way. I know it's not true HDR but It's a decent feature that improved the visual quality to my Netflix and YouTube vids

Undoubtedly it has uncracked what HDR does to the image, much like I saw what upconverting does for picture and sound. But there is no grading for it, and it likely boasts quite a bit of inconsistency or push in areas that shouldn't have any. Another similar thought would be enabling Full RGB on the PS4 for a television that does not display the whole 0-255 color spectrum.

I'd have to see it for myself, but I don't think I would try it for something that it was not intended for.

I understand your point, but me personally I just prefer the best picture I can get and that way looks better than Narcos on my tv app. If the show is HDR capable on Netflix then I run the app in Dolby Vision

There's a "Sale of the Dead" going on on PSN this week. Has anybody played the Zombie Army Trilogy? How is Resident Evil 4 on PS4?

Zombie Army Trilogy is a fun little shooting game, where you shoot waves of Nazi zombies, as you can probably infer from the title. It's a fun little game. I like to play it in small chunks. Good game to throw on if you're not feeling anything else and want to shoot stuff for a while.

RE4 on PS4, to me, is still RE4. If you don't like the controls, you won't find them any better. The graphics may be 1080p, but most of the textures are still poor. You can tell it's very much a game made in it's time. If those things don't bother you, it's probably as good an experience outside of the original Gamecube as possible on modern hardware.

Sony is saying fans should tune in because there will be lots of news coming out during the live broadcast. If I had to guess and hope;

- PRO and PSVR price drop annoucement
- New deals for PS+ users to enjoy
- New AAA VR games announcements
- Sucker Punch's new game announcement
- New 3rd party announcements from Activision, EA, and Bungie
- Release date confirmations for Colossus, GOW, Detroit, and Planet of the Apes
- New game information on Wild, Dreams, and FFVII
- Bloodbourne 2
- MLB The Show in VR
