I thought if you have the PS4 in rest mode it was supposed to download and install any updates? I get on and have to download and install the update myself. Am I missing something?

It’s supposed to but I have noticed a very random behaviour. My slim almost never downloads in rest mode despite the options being set to do it.Comment

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
It is supposed to but not once has it worked for me and i have had a ps4 sinces day 1. The only time i can download a update while in rest mode is if i turn the system on and than turn it to rest mode after the update had started to download. If i have the system in rest mode it will down load nothing.Comment

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
I haven't cleaned out my Pro since I got it. I tried to clean it once before and the cover wouldn't come off and I didn't want to put a lot of pressure on it because I was afraid of breaking something. I guess I will try again since my Pro has been loud when playing The Show and God of War. Just going to clean the fan first and see if that works because I really don't want to have to unscrew stuff and take things out in order to clean the heat sink.Comment

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
If you don't clean the heat sink, the PS4 will still run hot and loud. The heat sink being clogged with dust is the reason why the PS4 runs hot and loud. The noise you hear is the fan trying to blow air through a clogged heat sink. Hell you have the cover off anyway, what harm will it do to just spend 30 more seconds to take 5 more screws out and lift a power supply out ?
It is no where near as difficulty to do as it sound. Takes no time at all really.Comment

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
With Sony and there e3 this year being about 4 games for the most part from what Sony said what else do you guys expect from Sony at e3? I am thinking we are going to get very little of completely new games this year. Only thing i can think of that we will see besides those 4 games is concrete genie. Could this also be a sign of ps5 coming next year? Also what would it take for you to get a ps5 on day 1? For me if the system can play ps4 games and has a 4k bluray drive i will get it most likely on day 1 has being able to play ps4 games and watch 4 movies on same thing would save me some room and i money has i could than sale ps4 and 4k player for some money.Comment

IMO, 2020 is a better release date. That way developers have couple years to develop the game with the new console in mind. That way, when the console comes out, games aren't just scratching the surface.
For me to buy day one, it would take a few things. With PS4, i had extra money. But this time around, my situation is a lot better. Price would have to be manageable. $500-700 at most, preferably $400-600. Backward Compatibility. There has to be a decent amount of games. I'm not into other capabilities. I just focus on games only.Comment

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
I don't think the ps5 is coming next year (wouldn't be surprised if it did) but what I'm looking for from Sony is some of the groundwork being laid for it soon. I want to see them innovate on some of the things MS is doing with multi-gen BC, cross-buy, etc and then I'll be happy to return to their ecosystem.

I wouldn't be surprised either, but seems verly unlikely. The lastest I think would be late Nov 2021, but that seems like a stretch. 2020 is my preference. I just want have at least 1.5 years worth of development to plan for itLast edited by illwill10; 05-20-2018, 03:02 PM.Comment
