Well that stinks for Apple users. I know with the Vita you can play away from home as long as you have a wifi connection. I believe its the same way with the Sony Xperia phones (part of the reason I am looking at buying one of their new ones). See the link to the Vita guide on how it can be connected through another network. You are correct regarding the Xperia and PS Vita. The iOS app is limited in regards to remotely playing offsite as if we're at the in-laws house lets say and I can pull out The Show and play . Maybe, down the road the app will get the upgrade needed for iOS. Sony needs to expand next generation. The cool thing is that Sony Heads (Layden in particular) realize this.

Unfortunately you can't as he said. You need to be on the same network. There is however a work around you can use for the DS4 controller though.

You sure about that cuz the people on reddit are playing it at their work.

This is what Google told me;

- A dedicated PS4 Remote Play application is available on the Apple App Store. ... - Ensure that you are on Wi-Fi because the app will only work across your home network - you cannot play PS4 games remotely when on the bus, for example. - After login, the app will search your network for the PS4 you want to use.

Those lucky 'ones' are part of the "Sony Party."

I'm telling you bro, you can't unless you use other means...Third party apps, like R-Play, is available but there's a hefty price and I think there's yearly fees that also goes to Sony.

im pretty sure you can do remote play on your lte network, I played at my work before they patched the apk on Android

I’m 200km from home and my PS4. Last night, I successfully booted up and played No Man’s Sky on both my iPhone X and iPad mini. No DS4 support, obviously. But still awesome.

Pretty decent for a game like NMS. You can at least get buy without ds4 support and do sone harvesting and base building I bet.

I just tried Spider-Man man and it’s pretty much what I expected. Hopefully controller support comes soon and they can fine tune the lag situation.

I wasn't able to play away from home as it dropped for me when I left. I couldn't get back on after. I'm learning some new things now and will try later.


If you are on the same network as the one the console is on it will connect to whatever one you do the initial setup for

If you are on a different network it will only connect to the one you have set as your primary PS4.

Also, apparently, guywoodman7 from Reddit confirmed that connecting your device to a second device running Personal Hotspot would allow you to play over LTE. So for those who own an iPad and an iPhone (or really any phone that can act as a hotspot), you can get LTE play to work.

I’d imagine lag will be a huge issue with the show. If you are running a franchise it’s pretty cool to do all the back end stuff though.

Does my PS4 need to be on all the time?

I tried the remote app with my PS4 turned on and it connected right away... Try the app with PS4 off, takes forever to find and Idk if it ever finds my PS4 because I close the app, sick of waiting.
