Honestly, would be in line with what I was told over 3 months ago by a Sony retailer here ... I am all into this becoming true, the sooner the better !

That release date makes sense because of Battlefield and Call of Duty release being so close to that date.

I have never bought a new console around launch (usually 2 years after or so) but I am thinking of getting a PS4 around launch. What is the supply like when it is released? Is it hard to walk into a store and find one? If so, for how long?

All of that is really up in the air right now. We may not know until it launches, or at least until very close to that time.

I've got the Battlefield 4 launch day bundle pre-ordered at Amazon. And today I just added pre-orders for Killzone and The Division. I'm also very tempted to pre-order Watch Dogs. I just don't know if I'll have the money to spend $600+ on video games when the PS4 launches. Especially considering I've got GTAV and Kingdom Hearts 1.5 Remix pre-ordered for September. Too many awesome games coming out between now and Christmas.

Even tho there are many so called experts that just make claims without any true insight, I believe there might be some truth to it just by going with my surroundings trend: almost every friend I know is buying a next gen console (unlike last gen). If a shortage do happens, I expect at least to be for a couple of months (up to december-january at most) but could be more if it is indeed true that current demand is at unforseen levels.

On another note, within the article its even stated how ideal it would be to come out earlier than November, which seems in line with my prior cited comment. Anyways, Gamescon on august (Germany) cant come soon enough, as I think it is then when a launch date would be confirm, as well as some news of the many unknown in development titles ... and of NBA 2k14 too.

Good read and good to see that the FCC has "approved" the device for sale May indeed be a good sign that the PS4 is moving along hopefully ahead of schedule.

I think im going to get ps4 and either nba 2k or live 14 depending on which I think will be better when I see gameplay. And I will probably get battlefield 4 for launch also.

On that note I did get an order confirm from Amazon on my launch day edition today. (which is odd because I ordered it the night of E3...)

Still no release date listed in that email other than Dec 31.
