Very cool indeed.

This is a game-changer for online leagues. You can scout opponents. You can watch the Super Bowl or Championship game with the rest of your league. Commissioners can pop in to monitor a game if one of the players has had some complaints about cheesing/un-sim play recently.

Based on your dates, I would suspect you are using super saver shipping, have to have 2 day for release day.

I feel pretty warm and fuzzy that I decided on PS4 first at the start of next gen.
I'll eventually get both unless the 1 doesn't get any must haves I want to play.

It should. Mine says the 15 but I ordered the first hour the ps4 was available on Amazon.

Looks like I'm switching from BF4 to Killzone.

This week at Gamescom, however, I had an opportunity to play Battlefield 4 on a PlayStation 4 development system, and the resulting experience has me worried.

In spite of EA and DICE's emphasis on narrowing the gap between consoles and PC, this week's PS4 demo did not include a full 64-player match or the franchise's beloved vehicular combat. Instead, attendees were treated to a local 16-player match of Domination mode, which limited the play area to a small segment of the game's freshly minted Paracel Storm map.

From the moment I sat down, I was surprisingly underwhelmed by the visuals. Instead of the crisp, detailed textures I've encountered this week on the PC version or other next-gen shooter titles, Battlefield 4 on PS4 looked soft and muddled. Wall textures looked half-finished, lacking some of the smaller material nuances or 3D variation. Environmental destruction was more extensive than Battlefield 3 and explosions would send larger chunks of buildings into the air, but once again, the particles looked dull. Weapon models looked great at the hip, but as soon as I raised them to look down the iron sights or scopes, imperfections became apparent.

Another contributing factor was resolution. While EA and DICE have not confirmed what resolution the game will run at on next-gen consoles, for the purposes of this demo, it was running at a resolution higher than 720p, but not 1080p. Though the difference between the two formats may not be recognizable to more casual players, after spending the week checking out games running natively at 1080p, it was readily apparent to me.

It's probably an Alpha demo. It's not going to look amazing.
It's funny too that he says they only had 16 player matches with no vehicles. Im pretty sure I saw a video of a 64 player match

Also based on the comments on that article, it was apparently a PS4 bashing article (or at least the title was) so Im not going to but into it too much.


Anyway, just to address something from a video that someone else posted. I don't think too many people are going to use their real name online. Or at least, I know I wont

I started to care a lot less about resolution around when Modern Warfare came out, which at the time was one of the best looking console games I'd played.

Not sure why this would be unique to the PS4 either, unless I missed where it was said it's running better on Xbox One or something.

720p or not this looks to be a fantastic game, but gamers this gen are eager to flail over any little bit of PR it seems.
