I think a lot of it is hope for something different. As good as 2K is, It has its faults. I like the direction O'Brien is looking to take this series as he has been there in the past for the good and bad. If EA is truly looking to change as a company as their new brass has said, then it may start with this game. No doubt crazy to pre-order this now, but certainly something to check out using live view on release.

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
If stores not receiving copies yet is a problem in your area that sounds like even more of a reason to not pre-order.Comment

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
Its the excitement of something different. Nobody is saying its gonna be a great game, just alot of people wanna try something different from 2K. Im pulling for Live to be a decent game. If it is im getting it. Just for the change of pace. I have no games pre ordered yet. It’s easier to do the right thing, than to explain why you didn’t.Comment

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
I pre order because it's a game a really like and I'm an Amazon Prime member so getting anything on release day is pretty easy

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
If there are good incentives in the form of DLC, of course I want to preorder. But if its something like a poster or other crap I really dont want, I'll just wait and purchase on release day.Comment

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
You're actually probably much more likely to experience a problem with shipping before not being able to find a copy of a game in the store.
If the incentives are there (no tax, dlc, etc)... it absolutely makes sense.

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
I agree. If I want DLC I'll preorder, but nowadays I get games later (and on sale), so it's not an issue.
In general I'm not a fan of preordering, because usually I can get the game just fine without doing so. I only do it if there's a great incentive.Nintendo Switch Friend Code: SW-7009-7102-8818Comment

That's the beauty of Amazon Prime, my shipping is free unless it's one day. I live in Oregon, we don't believe in Sales Tax

The new effect. People just want something different. Live will have half the features of 2k but people are willing to give Live a pass because its new.Comment

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
I don't think that's an accurate statement. I'm not sure anyone is going to give it a "pass" simply because the franchise is being resurrected.
I think people just want to try something different from 2K and will more than likely reserve final judgement until the game is actually out and they can see for themselves how it looks & plays.
I've always been a NBA 2K guy and will continue to be, but I would be lying if I said that EA's return to hoops doesn't perk my interest. But the only way I'd ever get Live over 2K would be if all the reviews & commentary were raving as to how amazing it looked & played in comparison to 2K.
And that just isn't going to happen, I'm not big on games that combine Hoops with Ice skating.
Edit: But your first two lines I agree with.Comment

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
That statement is right if Live is a horrible game. But if its an average game, you will see a ton of people say stuff like "Its only Year 1 for Live" and "2k is the more complete game but Live is more fun"I don't think that's an accurate statement. I'm not sure anyone is going to give it a "pass" simply because the franchise is being resurrected.

Also if people are waiting tll the game comes out to see which one they want, why are people saying they are switching their preorders to Live? The only thing Live has shown us is the bouncetek demo and a fake trailer from E3 but people are switching preorders.Comment

Just preordered my PS4 today at Walmart, along with Battlefield 4 at GameStop. I'll also pre order FIFA 14 and most likely Watch Dogs as well. Pretty pumped!
