I'm fine paying for a yearly subscription for online.
The spectator mode would be awesome.
I would like to say I wouldn't pay $600... But when it comes down to it I probably will bite.
Whats going to make it hard on me is of both consoles release around the same time and trying to figure out which one to grab.Comment

Sub. to play online is the #1 reason I never went with the 360, and I won't be going PS4 if they do the same.Comment

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
Put about $50 bucks a month on each until release then pay off the remaining balance at release. Of course thats assuming your monthly finances allow that. I plan to use this strategy but might mean cutting out some excess spending I really dont need like buying snacks at work or ordering pizza with food in the house.PSN: ckarlic

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
This sounds weird, but I was happily willing to pay for Sony's online service when I felt I was getting a bonus out of it, more like it being an option for me. Now that it's more of a "requirement" so to speak, I'm less willing to do it. Of course I will still do it, but it doesn't lend me to believe that I will be getting as much out of it because it won't be as "exclusive" as PS+ was. I wonder if the free/discounted games will be as good and such.
It won't matter for a while since I'm not getting it at launch anyway, but just my two cents.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
Paying to access subscription based services is asinine. Paying for online multiplayer access is asinine. Paying for basic online functionality is asinine. No matter what else is included, I won't pay out of principle if those are included. I'll go mainly PC if that's the case (probably still have a PS4 at some point because I like Sony's exclusives).
However, I don't think that's what this will be. IMO it will be tied to Gaikai and expanded cloud based services (like the share button stuff talked about before). I guess we'll find out eventually, maybe in 7 hours but I feel like today won't go into that much detail.Comment
