Yes. I'll complete the move over to PC games and stick to the far superior older games that I haven't even gotten to yet. Hell I still find myself playing old PS1/2 and snes RPGs more than any newer games lately.

If $50 a year keeps you away, more power to you.

However, I don't think that's what this will be. IMO it will be tied to Gaikai and expanded cloud based services (like the share button stuff talked about before). I guess we'll find out eventually, maybe in 7 hours but I feel like today won't go into that much detail.

We will see, but imo its more likely than not that they will charge to play online. Microsoft has done it and xbox live is huge so it doesn't really make sense for Sony to keep it free.

Considering one of the big perks of the PS3 was always touted as free online play, and all the great press Sony has gotten saying how Plus is better than Live and how good the Plus membership numbers have gotten, Sony would be foolish to throw all that away. You don't spit in the face of good press, you build on it.

                While I agree with you.
I can't say I'm surprised that they MIGHT(or do) move to paid subscriptions.
I hope not as I love PS+ and they've got my money regardless in that sense.

Ima say this. With the success of live, it almost makes sense for Sony to charge....

If it includes better service and more features . Just saying from a business point .

And backwards compatibility is a core PlayStation brand feature... And vibration is a last gen technology... Things change, especially when the competition prints money with their subscription service.

I agree, even though I would prefer not to have to pay a yearly subscription for online, Sony would really be leaving tons of money on the table in revenues if they didnt start charging.

I'm ok with $400-500. I'm sweating at $600 though. By the time you get the system, add tax, plus a game or two and you are over $700. Don't think I can swing that.

Yeah, that's a lot. $350-$450 would be best. Hopefully games stay at $60.

I'll be eating lunch during the reveal, so it will be a nice break from work. I love living in Hawaii where everything happens in the middle of my day.
