Yeah, for sure. I never used it that much, but was great for NCAA stadium sounds....made it so much more real once I uploaded all that stuff to my system.

Same boat here. Frankly I'm not at all prepared for everything to be turned into a streaming service. I like having my music library.

There is not a massive gulf between the two services. Early on I may have agreed with you, but especially when ps+ started adding free games I began to prefer it over XBL.

The only difference being party chat and slightly slower downloads. I just don't see this big difference.

Free games are nice and all - and admittedly,, MS' response with the "Free Games With Gold" program is not only too little too late, but very weak in comparison - I'd trade all those free games in for the service to work in a stable and inviting manner with the games I already do play.

I haven't played a ton of the same game on both systems, but what I have played (two COD's, three NHL's and BF3) has been, as a whole, a vastly superior experience on the 360.

I compare it like this: take NBA 2K's MyPlayer mode (360 online) and NHL's Live the Life mode (PS3 online). NHL's career mode, for the most part, does the job. But the experience between games is a cold, dark and uninviting place and seems to exist in a vacuum. Where 2K's career mode has this whole world involved outside of just playing games, one that gets you feeling a sense of involvement and camaraderie and attachment to the game. It's a living, breathing world.

Online play, at it's core, is supposed to convey a sense of community. 360's online service delivered that in spades making it easy to find and play with your friends, communicate with them in and out of the game and in a variety of ways. PS3's was as solitary an online experience as one can possibly feel. I hope this and the massive latency and stability issues that exist in comparison to MS' service, are a thing of the past. I''m a glass-half-full kind of guy and feel third time's a charm for Sony's online service. But I shudder to think of the many ways they can screw this up in the upcoming generation of consoles.

I see a lot of talk about games selling out. How often does that actually happen? The last time I remember running into a situation where I couldn't find a game was Demon Souls, and that was because they barely produced any copies.

Rarely. Could see it happening at Target though unless others match their sale.

had to patch in the ability to even play bluray/dvd discs, so Im assuming they have not added everything to the OS yet

I saw in a random article on Flipboard (so forget which site, sorry) that this may be due to Sony paying a licence fee for "active" Blu-Ray licenses.....so it may in theory save them money in case there are a few PS4's that don't update.

Was in GS today and asked if they would match the Target sale. Mgr said he didn't think so, but didn't rule it out.

He also said Target doesn't also get a lot of games in stock so for those of you canceling PO's be careful.

Just cancelled my XBone order on Amazon. The Only game that appeals to me is Halo. Now, why the hell would i spend a G to have both systems? The PS4 is the knowledgeable consumer purchase in my mind. By the way, is "knowledgeable" an actual word? LOL.

That's how I feel as well. I don't have any problems with psn while playing 2k or battlefield. Even call of duty when I played that franchise years ago. Only difference I notice is the lack of party chat and the download/install speeds are lacking.

My BB said they wouldn't match the Target deal.

Are there even any videos out there, demonstrating how exactly that their new party chat will work?

I hope it's pretty similar to the 360's. I couldn't imagine playing online with anything less than what the 360 currently has.
