Any idea how this might be similar or different from the current 360 kinnect cam?

They only covered it's interaction with the controller, but subsequent releases have mentioned other kinect-like features like recognizing people.... so we'll see. Sounds pretty analogous to a Kinect to me, though I haven't heard of it having any microphones which is a shame. That's probably when it gets further into MS-licensed/owned territory.

edit: looks like it does have microphones, woot.

I haven't heard of it having any microphones which is a shame.

According to the description, it does....

Incorporated four microphones are also capable of accurate sound detection and source origination.

Best part about Watch Dogs is it's a multiplatform title so we'll get to enjoy that game whether I get a PS4 or not

I like the controller . My main gripes with ps3 seem to be fix. Almost gives me reason to not look at another console !

OK, with all this digital stuff, I hope they have some good security features. I don't want anybody to be able to steal my PS4 and have access to all my games and other files. I would like a GPS Playstation locator built into the OS with the consoles MAC address on my account so I can just click it and locate my PS4. I also want the ability to shut my system down remotely and even wipe it remotely. I would like to be able to totally control my system remotely, like if a thief is playing my PS4, I want the ability to remotely control my system and even pop up in a live streaming video and tell them to bring my darn console back!

I have a question guys, my stream was acting up when the gekai(spell?) cloud guy was on stage. What was he talking about with the try before you buy stuff? He said something like download and play and if you like buy it. Is it sort of like what live uses for thier arcade demos?

Sony tells Eurogamer: PlayStation 4 will not block used games

I sat down with Yoshida a few hours after the PS4 reveal tonight and one of the first things I asked was whether used games would be blocked.

"Do you want us to do that?" he asked.

No, I said. I think, if you buy something on a disc, that you have a kind of moral contract with the person you've bought it from that you retain some of that value and you can pass it on.

Do you agree, I asked?

"Yes. That's the general expectation by consumers," said Yoshida. "They purchase physical form, they want to use it everywhere, right? So that's my expectation."

So if someone buys a PlayStation 4 game, I asked, you're not going to stop them reselling it?

"Aaaah," was Yoshida's initial answer, but seemingly only because he'd forgotten his line. "So what was our official answer to our internal question?" he asked his Japanese PR advisor. The advisor stepped in but didn't seem to answer clearly, at least to my ears. Yoshida then took control again firmly:

"So, used games can play on PS4. How is that?"

I said I thought that was fine.

During today's PlayStation event Gaikai's Dave Perry revealed that the PS4 will not natively support PS3 games and that Sony's next-gen console will instead stream PS1, PS2 and PS3 games from the cloud -- something that the company has already confirmed on Twitter.
