I'm as confused as you. I normally completely shut down my PS4. When the PS4 is turned on with the DS4 plugged in, the color is blue. On standby mode with the DS4 plugged in, it does blink orange. I read that it's suppose to stopped blinking when it's fully charged. I *think* that's what happened with mines. But, apparently, yours is not responding the same.

I wish I can find some type of tutorial on youtube, but no luck yet.

My confusion is making me wanting to go by one of those DS4 charger (specifically the Energy DS4 charger, but they're out of stock right now).

If you figure it out, let me (and the OS readers) know.

From what I understand, the way it's supposed to work is as follows:

Blue (on the controller) when it's the first controller connected to a powered-on PS4.

Red when it's the second controller connected.

Orange when it's charging and the PS4 is in standby. It turns off when the charge is complete.

I'm pretty sure mine flashed orange while charging last week, but it didn't today. However, I just woke the PS4 up from standby and the controller has three bars again.

Gamestop is selling them right now for $29.99, but getting through the online checkout is not happening.. The site is getting hammered.. I think I'm going to drive around the corner to the actual store and grab a few, don't feel like sitting in front of my computer trying to checkout for another hour..

Yeah, but do you have to re-buy your games that you own? Probably.

You may just have to do what they did for the PS3-PS4 Trade-In $10 digital games where you have to have the PS3 in the disc tray to work. That would seem like the smart and fair thing to do.

It won't be all games either. I don't expect they'll do the disc based discount, this will be a profit center and we'll have to pay some sort of fee. All speculation either way. More interested in the other possibilities the service could allow like instant full game demos.

Is this available now. I was thinking of snatching up 2 on my Vita. I still see it for $50. Im in Denver so it is technically not 11/29/13. Wonder if that is for EST or PST.

Yup they are open around my way... The demand is extremely high for these things all of a sudden, so I may go tonight.. There was a report that they would be $8 cheaper on neweggs ebay site, and that page is getting hammered with 25,000+ views per hour.

Yeah its cheaper on Newegg but might be impossible to get lol

30 bucks is still cheap and other sites are doing this as well so screw the dog fight

Bestbuy, Sony, Walmart, TRU, so its not even worth all the hassle
