Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
And with that PS4 has the same DRM that XBox One does. Smooth Sony. Way to word it in your favor.Comment

It's pretty crazy how different the mood is in the X1 thread in comparison to this thread. Clear to see which system won E3.Comment

Sony is straight swindling people and getting praised for it...MS comes straight out with it and is catching nuclear heat.

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
Not exactly. MS 1st pty games have DRM restrictions. Sony's wont. If a publisher creates its own system that restricts used games or rentals, its on the publisher not the console maker. If any publisher tries to do this on PS4, the backlash will be on the publisher not Sony.
Also, MS controls where you can trade in and how many times you can trade an item through its DRM. Sony doesnt.Comment

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
Because there is a major difference. MS is enforcing it on all games with their system. Sony doesn't agree with it and therefore won't be using it on 1st party games. But they're not going to tick off the gaming industry by telling them that the 3rd party can't. If Sony told the 3rd party that they couldn't do it on their system, they simply wouldn't develop games for the PS4. It's the best decision Sony could have made. You should blame MS for getting us into this situation in the first place by using it across the board. Don't pretend that MS isn't doing this to bring in more profits.Comment

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
Sony said this before the conference. It was widely known on the internet. They are not forcing any DRM, nor are they having a "trade-in" program with "select retailers".
Hardly the same. And I doubt we will see the severity, especially since it ONLY applies to DRM (online checks), not trade ins. Do not get the two confused.Ⓥ Boston Red Sox | Miami DolphinsComment

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
I wouldnt bet on it. This sort of DRM isnt cheap. Thats why the publishers were pushing Sony and MS to manage the system. MS is willing to. Sony isnt.Comment
