    That wouldn't be good.

EA servers are all ready unstable as it is.

I will really be watching as I figure that either FIFA or Madden will be my launch day title, and I just want to know what EA's DRM strategy will be on PS4, out of my own curiosity.
Possibly some kind of integration with Origin. I bet it is one reason why EA decided that they would still put EA titles on the PS4, they get to use their own service via API's with Sony's network. Like how we had Valve/Steam integration for Portal 2. I can see Sony allowing this kind of DRM for sure, that way the publisher has some kind of control on their end.

currently to play online, all accounts that are trying to play online need gold. however with the Xbox One, only one account needs paid online, and the rest on that system will have access.

If a publisher is ready to put Xbox like holds on their games on the PS4 they'll get so much **** from gamers for it. Especially if its always on and no lending/trading related DRM.

"Cloud Computing" is gonna be the most whored out term in gaming this gen, if it isnt already. Ubi and EA are already writing up scripts to feed gamers during future releases. At that point they will have become very transparent.

I'd almost like to say it came along with the development of online gaming, and the competitive nature. I remember when I used to play my PS1/2, and couldn't give a care in the world who had what and what was best.
It has always been this way since the Coleco vs. Atari days, and ballooned even more mainstream with the Nintendo vs. Sega days.

You do not know how many people defended SFII and Mortal Kombat, swearing it looked and sounded better on the Genesis.

Which is interesting because during the Sony conference, he mentioned that the Sony cloud services won't really be taking off until 2014.

I think the PS4 Devs will have enough research and data to mull over DRM for that 2nd cycle of titles later in 2014.

If consumers are really up in arms about XB1 games by then, I think you'll see less publishers using it for PS4 games.

Yeah, I know. But it kind of gets to the point of ridiculous now. People will claw onto anything they can, or pick out every little flaw. And obviously the age of the internet has contributed.

If nobody buys the MS console they will have no choice in the matter but to cut the harsh DRM ****.

Which is why they will have every reason to implement makeshift DRM on Sony games just to even the playing field. MS is playing catch up and will need the help of the big Publishers to get them back including harsh DRM on PS4 as well as harsh exclusive love in favor of Xbox on multiplatform games; including the cloud.

This can end up sucking. Its all about how much of an advantage the PS4 can grab out the gates and rounding out the year mark for both consoles. If the Xbone pulls a WiiU you can say bye to nonsense DRM for a while.

Its sad Xbox fans see the publisher DRM thing and do not hesitate to blame Sony for lying. Cracks me uppp.

If Sony restricted devs from making their own DRM, we would miss a lot of games because of it. It is the happy medium between making us and devs happy.

I don't know if it's been mentioned yet, but the 500GB hard drive on the PS4 will be "removable and upgradable" as opposed to the one on the XBOX1, which won't be (I'm assuming you either have to take the whole console apart in the event of hard drive failure or ship it to MS for repair).

Exactly what I stated, and the blind comments they make about it being just as evil as what MS is planning is just lack of understanding the differences.
