Did anybody else get an email today from Amazon?

I got one that they were "preparing for shipment" but then it still lists the release date as Dec. 31.

I'm starting to re-think buying at launch. I like what both Sony and MS are bringing to the table and I want take a longer view before purchasing. I'll hold on to my pre-order just in case, but I'll probably wait until spring to make the next-gen leap.

I'm waiting until spring too, but I'm sold on a ps4.
Just not interested in any of the launch titles (full price anyway).
The Show will be my launch title and then I'll pick up a reduced Watch Dogs and Madden.

Same here I think. The Division is the only game so far that is a must have to me, and that isn't coming out for 16-18 months.

Waiting for spring will give me some more time to check things out and let the bugs be dealt with hopefully.

I think I'm actually sliding into the same boat as well. I'll probably wait for Destiny, but BF4 looks amazing.

Most everything I'm interested in is multi-platform and will be getting on PC with a couple of exceptions like the sports games. As I've probably said before I expect to just pick up getting Madden and Watch Dogs (wife is a huge Person of Interest fan) w/ my PS4 on launch day.

From there it's the usual routine of trying out all of demos and stuff, there should be a bit of content to tinker with outside of the paid retail releases. Some full game trials to enjoy in theory too. That's usually my response to the inevitable 'what games do I buy' posts... demos, demos, demos! - in addition to whatever games you want to play with your friends, because that's many probably picked one console over the other.

That's not a big deal to me.

If it does bother me, like my Vizio did because the word "Vizio" is always lit up on the front, I'll just throw some black tape over it.

Interesting, but not a big deal to me.

Normally when I'm on my couch playing I have a blanket over my knees that are propped up while my hands rest on my stomach covered by the blanket.

Yeah, don't think it's a big deal IMO, just saw it on IGN and wanted to point it out...

Some friends where I used to live would game in the dark so would hate the glow by their hands...

wouldn't bug me I don't think, and you can always put tape on there if it's bad.

At least we don't have to have the PS3 turned on to recharge them this generation.

Also, if it's just the light that's running... We already have lights (red on PS3, green on X360) on the controller. I doubt it will drain the battery any more than those do.

Ha, I forgot that people charge through the PS3 still. I bought a charging station four years ago... never looked back.

I don't think it will be a bother for me, either. I don't really know what it's for per se (not the light itself, but the big revealing of it), but I can cover it up if I need to. My HP laptop has the same "big light in the back" issue, and I don't notice it on my plasma while watching TV or gaming.
