so I got to turn on my system last night but was unable to play cause being to tired and having to get up early. Just happy I have it.

I just wanna say the hardware is very slick, possible one of the better if not best design in a systems thus far. Will have more on hands impressions later on tonight.


My question is , Stand by or not turn off completely, that's where I'm stuck at right now whats safer in your guys option or recommended.

I saw only one sold at $779, the rest were at $625, $599 which is still not bad considering you can make $150. I'm gonna go out once mine arrives and if I can find one I'll snap it up and put it on ebay.

I'm starting to evaluate all options, and can't come up with a solution right now other than saying your PS4 HDMI chip might be defunct. But to clear all obstacles...

• Are your HDMI cables all 1.4? 1.3b?
• Are you using a receiver to passthrough your signal? Does it accept HDMI 1.4?
• Did you try and use manual settings and uncheck 1080p, just to see what 1080i and 720p look like?
• Did you try and uncheck 480i and 480p? Maybe your TV has an issue where it's choosing that as its native setting in some sort of option.
• Do you have another HDTV or HDMI-ready monitor that you can try it on?

I hope you can resolve this.

I used a 1.3 HDMI as well as the one that came with unit.

Uncheck 1080p and it looks worse. Haven't tried another TV yet because I'm not at home.

I picked up a PS4 today and hooked it up to my KDL-40EX500, the first thing I noticed is that the TV locked out all display options but two gaming modes, nothing else was available.



The big problem I'm having is the text rendering, it's TERRIBLE, all the on-screen text is aliased to hell and small text in a lot of cases is for the most part illegible. Bigger text is legible but looks terrible. I've never had this problem before.



I'm not sure where I should even start to attempt to fix this, but any help or tips would be appreciated!

This guy has the EXACT same TV and problem I have. Also another random user on twitter found my tweet and said he's having same issue. And he's using a 40" Bravia TV as well. Maybe our TVs aren't compatible?

So I got my ps4 this morning and did the update now, but after it installed the screen just stayed black!!! Wtf!!? I don't know if I should turn off the console? I know we're not suppose to turn it off while updating, but it updated and installed and then that's it nothing else is happening..

Anyone else notice people's mics are really quiet? I've held the PS button and turned the chat volume up all the way and set my Astro Mix Amp so it makes people voices louder, but last night I could barely hear my friends chatting.

Don't know if it's the mic they're using or something wrong on my end.
