I have a Launch PS4 and got a 2 year Warranty from Gamestop when I bought it. As a few of you know who I played Hardline with, I had issues with the disc's just popping out during gameplay. I took the ps4 back to GS yesterday and exchanged it with no issue. Only thing is you have to pay for a new Warranty when you get a new one. Just a FYI for those that this may affect.

That sounds messed up that you have to buy a new warranty.

My PS4 stopped working on my plasma. All i get is the blue light and 2 relay clicks, then it shuts off. I tried different HDMI cables and different HDMI slots but nothing worked.

The funny thing is that i moved it to the living room TV and it works fine there.

I guess its a compatibility issue. Has anyone else encountered this?

Sounds like your HDMI ports on that tv just don't work any more.

That sounds messed up that you have to buy a new warranty.

When you have to completely replace a product, it fulfills the warranty.

It's like that with most warranties.

Sounds like your HDMI ports on that tv just don't work any more.

My XBox 1 works on that TV though. It's really weird.

Oh I had no clue but still sounds messed up lol. I got a warranty for my second ps3 after my first one brook after around 2.5 years has I tend to have systems break on my around 2.5 years. While I had 2 game cubes and one ps3 break after around 2.5 years. But I never had to use the warrantee on the second ps3 has it was a 3 year warrantee and I have now had the system for around 5 years or so. Question if you buy a system and you get a 3 year extended warranty do those 3 years start after the 1 year regular warranty ends so you get 4 years told? or do you get 3 years told?

My XBox 1 works on that TV though. It's really weird.

That is odd. The sound sometimes goes out on my tv and it is only with the HDMI ports and if I turn the tv off and want for it to complete turn off and then turn it back on the sound comes back. Luckily it only happens like once ever 2 months or so but I know it is not just the ps4 because it happens with direct tv and with my wii u and ps3.

I could see a handshake issue with the plasma, but trying different ports and cables - seems like at some point you'd find an instance where this matched up. Also weird that you say "stopped working", indicating that at one point it did. Did you make any changes to the set up or did it just go from good to nothing, one day to the next?

You also say you only get the blue light, which confuses me. Sounds like your system isn't fully booting up, but then why would that only happen on one TV and not the other? That makes no sense. Is it possible you have a wiring issue in the room with the plasma?

It sucks because having the PS4 on the living room TV means that i have to get approval from the wife or wait until she goes to sleep in order to play the Show. I could game whenever i wanted when it was on my plasma in my man cave. Perhaps my wife sabotaged it.

Im going to call Sony support when i have more time at 5.

Have you tried unplugging the plasma from power, waiting several seconds and plugging it back in? In the slight off chance it is a weird HDMI handshake issue this would totally hard reset the ports and fix it.

Try turning it on in safe mode and see if that works.

Make sure it's off. Press and hold the power button until you hear a second beep.

ya i called Sony support (got to talk to a person rather quickly) and they told me to go to safe mode which fixed it. The "rebuild database option" was the one that fixed it. crisis averted! Thanks guys for the responses.

Is it just me or some of the titles don't show up on the psplus section of the store. I noticed it since the last update.
