Sony should allow you to use screenshots taken as your theme.

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
Sony needs to do more firmware OS updates more often for one thing. 2.50 seems like a long time ago now and some very simple features like friends logging on notifications and folders should be implemented by now. The system is almost 2 years old and has had very few new features added to the OS overall. Suspend/Resume and Share Play have both been great additions but it's time to really spice up the OS. Sony has been pretty complacent lately, and would them to feel a little urgent to keep their foot on the pedal and improve the system.Comment

I love some of the improvements don't get me wrong, they just got to step it up and be a bit more progressive.Comment

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
You have to remember that Sony is a hardware company and will never be able to do what MS does in terms of software. That is what MS is known for.
Sony has a rep of releasing perhaps 1 big update a year and the fact that they are doing so well in sales makes them have no urgency because they keep selling with little to no new updates at all and little exclusives put out in 2 years.
That is why I dont agree with the Sony crowd banging drums about sales. Sony needs a reason to do something and today they have zero incentive to do more when they do little and continue to sell extremely well.
Sony will start to do more when they see sales start to dwindle.
Has zero to do with MS and how many consoles they sell.
MS can go on a good tear in the next 6 months and if Sony continues to sell a good amount that keeps MS far back they will continue to have zero reason to do anything. Why waste money to improve something that continues to sell. Specially when they are spending tons on third party rightsComment

Only you could turn this into a sales talk and into a console war. I mean. Really? I don't care about what MS is doing this is a PS4 thread.

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
Sony's approach to providing meaningful updates confuses me. They've come out and said in the past that after complaints about PS3's constant updating, they'd scale back and provide larger, more substantial updates.
Not a bad idea in theory, but it totally ignores the PS3-era complaints, being that downloading updates tied up the whole system; and they were by-and-large generic stability updates for the last several years. So here they have a new console that is better at dealing with updates, downloads and applies them much faster than PS3...and nine times out of ten they're still these stability updates.
That being said, SharePlay is a great addition, and I'm glad that I've discovered over and over again that I can change my power options.Comment

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
The main thing I want from my PS4 is to upload MP3s instead of being required to use DLNA or a USB. I'd like some more options surrounding themes and such but that's a minor thing being I'm in game more than at the home screen. For the most part, I'm completely content and happy.Originally posted by Gibson88Anyone who asked for an ETA is not being Master of their Domain.
It's hard though...especially when I got my neighbor playing their franchise across the street...maybe I will occupy myself with Glamore Magazine.Comment

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
I don't think Sony should be complacent but at the same time, they're outselling MS consistently - what need do they have in spending resources on upgrading a current OS that the public (and devs) already favors? Even so, I honestly don't think there is too much in upgrades that will truly be system sellers as it's all about the games.

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
WHY
Sony recently revealed a companion accessory for the PlayStation 4 console at a media event. We got a chance to get our hands on their upcoming mobile projector, which ran a demo of the PlayStation 4 exclusive game, Until Dawn.
Here are the key features that caught our attention:
Laser Technology.
Auto Focus & Free Focus modes.
Can project up to 120 inch screen size.
1920 x 720 resolution.
HDMI/MHL connection.
There is a tiny internal speaker to output audio, but most of us will plugging in a headset or external speakers to the stereo earphone jack.
The form factor of the device is really small. About the size of two Sony Xperia phones stacked together!
Details are scarce at the moment, but it looks to be launching in October 2015.
The biggest question now is how much will it cost?

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
Regarding system updates and whatnot, all I really want is to clean up the XMB with more options, be it folders or the ability to "hide" those tiles. I don't mind seeing the game tiles but I hate seeing everything else on the XMB. And even with the games, I would prefer a folder that I could open and all the games are then shown. And sorting options too. Besides that, an on/off option for the light bar on the PS4 controller. While it doesn't bother me at all, the option should have been added already.
And while this doesn't affect me whatsoever since im an off-line gamer, Sony should 100% upgrade their servers and whatnot especially with them having exclusive deals this year for Call of Duty and Battlefront because even I know that's an area that's lacking and since Sony charges to play online via PS+, it need to seriously upgrade it.
That projector will be like PSTV - dead within a month. If there's one thing that's annoying and confusing the hell out of me, it's releasing all these peripherals. They rarely if ever succeed and quite honestly, all of the peripherals that have been released for consoles going back to the days of the NES have all failed and quite simply sucked. Seriously, I just don't see the point.Comment

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
Similar to this Pico projector, which is $350. So that will be a $300-400 accessory probably.
