The previous report that Kodera suggested that the PS5 is 3 years away was widely incorrect. Bloomberg believes it will be fall of 2020 and Kodera who did an interview prior with Bloomberg, claim he did not make that committal.

If PS5 is Fall 2019, Sony would announce it in early 2019. No way is Sony going to take away the spotlight from Days Gone. Also, why release PS5 when all the games are being developed with PS4 Pro in mind? The other games could be smaller titles but im expecting them to be announcements from second parties. RaySpace is (obviously) some kind of game in space but other than knowing that the name was trademarked and it being connected to Japan Studio, I don't know anything about it. As for releasing a year before Microsoft, that would be worse because they would be a year behind tech wise and the cost would be higher.

As for other posts that say PS5 is three years away and it's 2021, no way. PS4 Pro would then be over 4 years old by then. I think the max Pro goes is just under four years. I believe that September 2020 is almost a sure bet because it coincides with Sony's 25th year anniversary of PlayStation in NA. I can see them doing an NA/Europe launch and then in early 2021, launching everywhere else. Japan is the wildcard because while that's Sony's home territory, consoles are for the majority non-existent in Japan. Depends on how Sony sees the market at the time.

If the next Xbox and Playstation came out in 2020 I wouldn't mind it honestly. The question then becomes what shape do both consoles take and at what price point. 500$ or 600$ is a steep price even for a next gen console.

I honestly wouldn’t mind if they did the tier system where you can get an all decked out full blown top of the line native 4K for x price and then a more lower level model for a cheaper price that way you get to satisfy the full spectrum of fans and not get so many people butt heart with a mid gen bump up like this last round did with the pro and oneX

I honestly wouldn’t mind if they did the tier system where you can get an all decked out full blown top of the line native 4K for x price and then a more lower level model for a cheaper price that way you get to satisfy the full spectrum of fans and not get so many people butt heart with a mid gen bump up like this last round did with the pro and oneX

True but many people are still much more comfortable with the convenience of consoles, not having to worry about compatibility, upgrades by opening the system up, gaming on a tv, cost etc. that imo is why gaming PC’s haven’t been leading the charge in the first place.

That would be interesting not sure how well that would work but would be interesting. Like had ps4 pro came out with ps4 back in 2013 how much more would the pro have cost back then compared to the regular ps4? Like would the pro be 500, 600 back then? If given the choice between a ps5 that cost 400 or say a ps5 pro that is similar level jump to the based system that ps4 pro was compared to ps4 would you like a 600 ps5?

Yea it would be interesting to see if they could pull it off and keep it affordable at the same time, maybe an announcement same time the original 5 is released to say a 5 pro will be coming out the following year with its price point and specs range so people know. That way everyone doesn't buy a 5 then out of nowhere an upgraded system comes out at a higher price point. this way those who want/can support the beefed up system can just wait a year and get that one when it comes out. Or do it kind of like how Apple does the iPhone your main line comes out every x years from its latest model and then your in between line comes out every x years from its last release for example the PS5 comes out in 2020 thats what 6 years from when the PS4 originally came out then the PS5 Pro comes out 2021/22 thats 5/6 years from the PS4 pro coming out and then people could plan their upgrade based on what sku type they prefer, can afford and can support. idk just throwing ideas around lol

I have a Sony 4K tv that supposedly upscales stuff to 4K. I also have a PS4 Pro and I also have the newest Apple TV that does 4K HDR.

Here’s my question. If I have, for example, Creed on blu ray and also redeemed it in the vudu app on Apple TV, do you think the PS4 Pro will do a better job of upscaling the blu ray than the tv would do if upscaling the video playing in the vudu app on Apple TV?

I was out of town this past weekend and brought my Vita with me. Remote Play over my sister's WiFi worked like a charm playing GTA V from nearly 300 miles away. A bit of latency, but I was able to work with it for a game like GTA. Probably not a baseball game, but I didn't have any instability or dropouts. I think I can thank my new fiber Internet for that.

Sorry for writing books guys. Just having discussions/conversations. Hope me reminding you guys of that other poster is a good thing. LOL. If not, well that sucks.
