Or the lack of money in the sport is why EA didn't outbid 2k, who is doing so well with their title they aren't making it anymore?

Because 2K has never put out a good baseball game. That is why they aren't making any sales... The Show is regarded as the best sports game out there. Go look in The Show forums. The suggestions for next gen and current gen The Show games are all things besides gameplay. You know you have a good game when nobody is complaining about the gameplay. Especially when all other sports titles are being complained about gameplay wise.

I think we're back to my original point finally, as much as The Show is lauded, it's sales are relatively small in the sports gaming market. It's just not as popular as fans of the sport think it is. I say this as someone who owns The Show 13 for both Vita and PS3.

I love baseball and really love the Show.
I just feel it's not the end all be all sports game at all..
IMO The Show (defense) needs to be less animation driven and more user input for those that like to control and play the game.

Anyways back on topic: I'll have both systems eventually so I'll be set either way.

EA had every right to get the license after it expired in 2012...they chose not to for a reason (and they chose not to fight 2k and overpay for the crappy MLB license).

EA chose not to lose money, that's why they couldn't make MLB games, and that was my point. I believe I do have my facts straight...

*EDIT* - I really like The Show, I just feel that the MLB market isn't anywhere near NFL, which is why there was no one competing for the license.

Pretty much the most solid response in the thread.

              I agree.

Yeah, if you really want a great baseball game then PS4 is your only option...

I wish there wasn't exclusives. It's not really fair to the gamer. Sure you can buy both systems, but that's a lot of money just to buy a certain exclusive or two.

I wish this too...Exclusives are one of the things that have to factor in my decision...I'm going with only one system this gen because 2 systems just aren't justifiable (especially at this price).

Both have some nice exclusives. I am hopeful that there'll be more MLB competition (EA or someone) down the line, but who knows.

Yeah it sucks, but I have to buy both systems. It's just something I have always done. No need to stop now especially with how powerful and good these systems look. I just feel bad for the people that can't afford both and miss out on some really good games.

That's one of the few things you actually have to pay for on PS4.
