I talked for a while to a guy at Best Buy today, yeah I know, Best Buy. But he seemed well informed and I had to talk him into giving me information. I got the same message from two separate Gamestops as well. Here's what we're looking at (I hate to break this to you guys looking to make a 300% profit).

Gamestop, Best Buy, and just about every major electronics outlet will have extras on launch day. They're just not taking pre-orders anymore. Gamestop will receive numerous shipments after launch date as will Best Buy. It's really simple economics. Sony has limited the supply and is giving consumers a feeling that these machines will be hard to come by. But they'd be fools not to have as many as possible out before Christmas, which is exactly what happens. I would be willing to bet that anyone that wants a Playstation 4 before Christmas will have one. I could be wrong but that's just the feeling I'm getting from multiple sources and it makes sense from Sony's perspective. Now don't get me wrong, some people will pay close to if not over $1,000 on eBay because they don't understand this.

Obviously there will be non pre orders available lol.

There are tons of people that will not want to fight lines or take chances on missing out that will pay double even triple. There won't be as many people flipping around early December when they really will sell.

For the record, if you are smart about it, you will never lose money trying to flip. You can either return back the console or put on eBay to break even and I guarantee you will get it.

Exactly. The people who are willing to pay double or triple the price are not the ones who will lineup overnight to buy a ps4. They are the people who will check online or walk into a BB at 11am and see that the ps4 is sold out. They will then go to Ebay and buy one from there. As long as the PS4 launch isnt like the WiiU (when people were able to walk in to retail stores launch day and buy the console), there will be plenty of buyers on Ebay.

Luckily for me I have friends in high places and I have now scored a PS4 reservation. No worries for me. I'm pretty excited about it.

Prices are steadily climbing as we approach launch day. I think I will sell all of my PS4's and keep two for Christmas. Going to sell 3 of the 4 Xbox ones prior to launch. Not looking to be greedy. Just want my systems and games already paid for without reaching into my own pocket. Pretty much the same way I have done it for every console launch.

I'm a bit torn because I'm going to be paying for mine through a lot of 'bank points' that are going to be used. the problem is i have to use the points to purchase a gift card...so i sort of have to choose now if i'm going with Amazon or Best Buy (i'm guessing i have a better chance with those 2 than most others).

What do you all think...are my chances better with amazon or best buy?

I preordered both systems and am hoping to make a decision here in the next week or so (I have to make a decision, lol). Leaning right now towards the X1 over the PS4 but at some point, I see myself having both systems so wondering if I should just take delivery on both for the heck of it.

Was able to snag a Solution a Bundle on Walmart with an extra controller and NBA 2k14!!! Says it will arrive between the 18th-21st I'm so happy def can't wait!!!

If your talking PS4 they are currently out of stock on Amazon. The best thing to do is to sign up for the 1st to know list on Amazon, Gamestop, not sure if walmart has one. Its on their websites. You can try being a walk in on launch day at a store but you gotta get there early.

No. Amazon isnt taking preorders right now. It could be a few weeks or a few months depending on supply.

You can't get it sent to the Walmart on 95th and Western? Maybe it would be faster.
