    Re: Anyone Going Digital?

I don't really sell my games so I will probably go digital with some of my games. Especially on Xbox1 because of the switching & snap features. I can't wait to use that stuff. Plus if I never have to go to retail store ever again that would be just fine with me. It's one step further removed even from amazon, lol.

      Re: Anyone Going Digital?

I'll go digital when it's monetarily smart to do so. The first digital game I have ever bought was COD Ghosts because I'm able to get both the 360 and XB1 versions for $70. But, now that I can get all new games for $48 at Best Buy, I'll probably be getting mostly physical games for the foreseeable future.

I will go digital on games that I know I will keep(GTA, anything Naughty Dog, other open world games that I will take my time playing every now and then). The problem I have now is that I buy open world games start them, take them out the system to play a sports game & then never get the motivation to go back. I've done this with Skyrim, SR3, both batman games, sleeping dogs..... You get the point. If they're already on my hard drive I can easily boot up & continue without switching out my sports games.

I definitely won't go digital on sports games because those are yearly purchases.

          Digital gamers rejoice!!!

Sony has decided its PlayStation Network (PSN) Store isn't going to be the only place you can purchase digital PlayStation games. Utilizing a model similar to Valve's PC game marketplace Steam, the company will allow online retailers to launch their own storefronts for Playstation 3, Playstation 4, and Playstation Vita titles (although PS4 titles aren't listed right now). As spotted by Kotaku, Amazon launched its US PlayStation Network store today and is offering $5 PSN credit on digital orders -- credit which can be redeemed in its buy two get one free promotion starting at noon ET today. Digital PlayStation 4 games will launch alongside physical titles, making an all-digital game library a reality, but a Sony monopoly over pricing may have affected their overall success in the past. With Amazon's PlayStation Store, and other potential partnerships, Sony will let gamers shop around for the best game deals, just like they did with boxed copies.

I'll admit, the way the PS4 handles games as apps, I'd go completely digital if it made just a bit more financial sense.

              Anyone Going Digital?

If downloading and install digital games is anything like my experience with BF4, I'll never go digital.

Download only took about 70 minutes, but full install took over 9 hours.

Only with digital only games. Sports will never be digital as I want to sell each year.

Nope it is still faster to go to a store and buy the game or order it from amazon.com. I have cable internet that is fine for playing games online but just not fast enough go all digital for games that are 30 gb or more.

I agree. I love the fact that the PS4 saves your spot in the game, even when you turn it off or take the game out...with digital I could switch to my hearts content without much effort at all....I know I'm lazy!

It took me overnight for BF4 and NBA2K14 to install.

                          Terrible experience.

I'm staying digital but that was a major, major annoyance.

I wonder how much the installation problems were due to the system just launching. I'd hope it wouldn't take as long in a non-launch situation.

The ease of just flipping back and forth between games is just a thing of beauty. Not having to eject a game, put it in a case, open another one and put it in.

Just turn on the PS4 and you're good to go.

My PS4 also runs silently. Not a sound.

                              So glad I went digital.

                                Re: Anyone Going Digital?

Sorry to resurrect a 4 year old thread, but I wanted to post about going digital and figured I should use this instead of creating a new one..

My POS step-son is stealing blu rays from me so it's probably only a matter of time until my games start disappearing. I was thinking about trading in all my games at Gamestop and using it to get PSN cards. I did all the math and it just sucks because I'd basically end up with enough to get enough $$ for 6 games.

Anyways, does anyone know if I have a game like GTA V installed and using a physical disc, if I then trade in the disc and buy the game digitally, will I be able to just start the game with the existing data I've already downloaded and game saves?

*edit* and of course as soon as I post this I see the thread about a digital library on the first page that didn't come up with my search. Kill me.
