Re: Owners of both PS4 and Xbox One: Pros and Cons

If The SHow doesn't sell me a PS4 sometime soon, a return to SOCOM's roots definitely will sell me on a ps4 down the road. Definitely worth it if it's like the PS2 days. I even really liked Confrontation.David Sears the original creator of Socom 2 is making it. Coming to PC and PS4!!!!!

RB6 Vegas was the most fun and most played game for me last gen. Great times with OSers. They don't make 'em like that no more.Comment

Re: Owners of both PS4 and Xbox One: Pros and Cons

 Question for everyone:

I am still weighing my options for a next-gen console. I primarily play sports games, but recently, due to my job, have focused more on single-player non-sports games. I am not much of an Online gamer, preferring to stick to the Offline campaigns/seasons/franchises instead.

I am not a fan of first-person shooters; the camera literally makes me sick if I play more than 10-15 minutes.

I currently own a 360 and PS3. I prefer the 360 for sports games due to the controller, outside of MLB The Show, of course. The Show is probably my favorite sports game, with NBA 2K a close second.

I know it's tough to pick one, but if you had to (I don't plan on buying both systems this go-round), which one would you choose based on some of the information I've listed above?Currently Playing:
 MLB The Show 25 (PS5)Comment

Damn that's a tough one. I've played both but if I where you or had to do it over again I would have stayed with the PS4. I have to MAN UP and admit for strictly gaming it is the better system IMO.

The Xbox one is an excellent system and you can't go wrong either way but Sony has a dang good gaming system on there hands and I applaud them for it

My son who's in college and is a DIEHARD xbox gamer has joined the other side. He wouldn't be seen with a ps3 controller and I'm buying him a system and I tried to get him the Xbone and he refuses it, not because it's a bad system but he just wants to game

I would have to agree with Flight - I use my PS4 for gaming, and let my 2 year old use the Xbox One to flip through the tiles. Both systems are good at what they do, but if you just want a single player gaming experience that doesn't revolve around FPS - than I would go down the path of the PS4 -Twitch - bluengold34_osComment

You don't really have a choice then. I know you said you were moving away form sports games to single player games due to work, I am guessing because of the time sink of having to play career multiple seasons to really get invested in a sports game. But can you honestly say that in March when you see the Show in next gen glory that you wont be dying to play it. As far as I am concerned all the gaming that I am doing on PS4 now is just icing on the cake and a precursor to my time with the Show.Comment

Dogs, you are right, once I see MLB The Show on a PS4, I'll kick myself for not owning one if I went with an Xbox One. This is very similar to my back-and-forth over getting BCS Championship Game tickets or not. Eventually I decided to get them because I knew if I passed on the opportunity to see my alma mater (FSU) play in the National Championship in person, I'd kick myself over it for the rest of my life. You don't really have a choice then. Re: Owners of both PS4 and Xbox One: Pros and Cons

Haha I was in the same boat last year and wavered for a while on going to Miami to watch Notre Dame. Not my alma mater, but I highly doubt Yale is going to be in contention for the crystal ball anytime in my lifetime. I did get to go to Pittsburgh to see us win the NCAA Hockey National Championship last year though. I follow Notre Dame since I had friends that played there and my sister went there. In the end I am more than happy that I sold my tickets rather than spending money on a flight and hotel to be in Miami for that debacle. That being said, I think you have an infinitely better shot at having a more favorable experience than I would have had.I appreciate all of the replies, guys. It sounds like you'd want to go with PS4, but I have to say that by far my favorite launch game on either system is Dead Rising 3.Question for everyone:

The PS4. Its a no brainer for you. Your favorite game is the Show. X1 doesnt have the Show.Question for everyone:

Re: Owners of both PS4 and Xbox One: Pros and Cons

I feel if gaming is what you want go with the ps4. I went with the ps4 because the specs are better, they're focused more on gaming and multiplatform games look better. I was a mainly an xbox guy last gen. Also, they added party chats which was huge on the 360. MLB the show is a major plus NBA2K is the standard of sports games period. Re: Owners of both PS4 and Xbox One: Pros and Cons

So does the XB1 have full DVR functionality? Can I record movies and TV shows?
Or is that something that's coming down the pipe?
