Picking it up in a few and I'll keep both.

      I gotta agree as well.
My office is right next to my and my wife's bedroom.
Using headphones is a LAW....and I can't play or us an application on my PC that uses Dragon(I have quite a few games like Silent Hunter and a few racing games with all my commands tied to Dragon......it's awesome to use(when she's not home)...

The last part of your post....WOW....that is absurd. I realize sometimes companies can be rigid and impersonal ....but that's another level.

        I hear you 100%.

I can use the controller (or the Media Remote that's shipping soon) to give me better alternatives to always using voice.

I get your point though. I can handle it at night when I play, I'm not usually talking to Kinect that much, if at all.

For a gaming primary machine I totally get it. I just realized that my gaming time has gotten cut down, but we still utilize the Xbox One for media more, and it's easier for my wife to use (especially compared to when I had to teach her the PS3 dashboard).

That's why we all win IMO. It's not like MS is getting killed, they're just behind a bit. Still selling great.

At this point though I'd rather see MS stick to their guns so devs can do cool stuff with Kinect vs. forgetting it like PS Camera.

Plus I believe a bit more in MS with Live and all that, but I totally understand how they alienated you.

        *Side note*
I still do like the digital future they were spinning, especially if we could sell digital games used. In 5-10 years that's probably where we'll be.

Re: Owners of both PS4 and Xbox One: Pros and Cons

The alienated part is totally me feeling entitled. I was jealous of numerous people I knew getting free games, XB1's, even a DLC car for Forza while I got nothing. The emails all read "To our most loyal customers". I took the 10 year thing when I got nothing and then that.

Like I said, it was more about me feeling entitled to something rather than MS doing something wrong, but it definitely alllowed me to objectively and fairly look at both systems. The price difference with MS vision wasn't the same as mine. We're cutting cable, so the XB1 would never be a media center for us. I play 95% of my games are either single player or co-op. I know MS focuses heavily on the FPS crowd, which works for them and they really do dominate the market. It wasn't an easy decision but baseball > Titanfall for me. I'm glad the both systems are doing well, I want competition, I don't hate the XB1 just like I never hated the PS3. I'm much more of a 3rd party gamer than anything anyway.

But back to Kinect, yep, it's definitely going to get more dev love thanks to it being in every system box. I do have the PS4 camera, but it's used exclusively how I'd use a camera on my PC, for when I stream games. $50 for it wasn't a bad deal IMO. Granted, that's all the Kinect would have been as well, but I think it's just the forced upon me thing I never liked.

I don't mean to turn this thread into any arguments on which is better or what not. The fact is, gamers win. Both systems are great, both will produce many years of awesome games. Titanfall looks like a beast, been watching streams since last night.

          Game on everyone!

            Absolutely.....

I think both systems are excellent right out of the gate....and will only get better.

..and I don't think think it's really entitlement....at least not totally.

Disappointed in the passive unattended updating/downloading on the Xbox One. Pretty sure I've had to prompt/force all updates so far, if Titanfall lost connection at 65% why didn't it just resume when the connection was restored... for example.

PS4 isn't a whole lot better, I go a couple weeks without turning it on (but it is in standby) and a bunch of updates start downloading when I finally get around to using it.

I'm sure both will get better, just annoying.

This was the reason why for most of last gen I went 360 over PS3. Almost every time I booted up the PS3 I saw "A system software update is required." And that pretty much made me never want to play it.

It seems to me like these systems were rushed and that's why there's so many updates. I'll be honest I don't mind because I'm pretty sure it's just making the experience better. And, both these consoles are missing a lot of features.

I set up my XB1 last night. I left the Kinect in the box. I didn't have one for my 360. I might set up occasionally if there is a game my kids want to play, but I won't for myself.

Last week's update automatically went for me....seemed pretty good too. I personally wish it'd turn the tv on before updating, but that's no biggie.

Because it's integral that for devs to be expected to develop for it that everyone out there have the device. If you don't use it then that's your choice but for the sake of how the system is intended to be used it should always come with the system.
