I preorded mine back in June at Gamestop all paid off and called this morning and my unit is gone. They said only 48 hours to hold. But its paid in full u can't sell something that is paid off. They said no holds on the system I have to wait till they get more in. He said
I MIGHT get it by Christmas or maybe early next year. Might have to call a lawyer.

Actually they can sell it, their policy is made clear.

You can call a lawyer but consider that money thrown down the drain that you could have used on a game when you do get the system.

Sorry, but you are out of luck.

If it was already paid off why didnt you go get it when it was released?

The point of pre-ordering is to make sure you can get your copy on release day.

The moral of the story is to pick it up within 48 hours of release....

I went less than 18 hours after release to pick mine up and it was gone

Guess I've been lucky. Never had a problem and you can get some older titles used real cheap sometimes. I know they pay squat if you want to sell them something but that's the way it goes.

Me neither. Always had a great experience with GS/EB.
Have saved a ton over the years also.

Yep, same here. I've flipped a lot of games/systems over the years there.

OP, glad you finally got your Xbox One. That was a crappy hand you were dealt, but with your car issues, it probably all worked out for the best in the long run. Glad they admitted their mistake and offered you a free game ... hope you picked out a good one.
