Re: Somebody with both consoles (PS4 & XboxONE) help me out.

After owning both Xbox One and PS4 I ultimately went with my Xbox one. One of the big points for me was online play. Sony has a good online experience, but I feel Microsoft still offered more this time around (from the party chats to online stability). Ps4 had faster HDD game download times where Xbox one takes a few minutes. In the past I had the kinect but never used it but the way it is integrated into the Xbox one is awesome and makes for a fun experience, and if you're lazy like me you'll enjoy the ability to turn the console on via voice command. Graphically, I couldn't tell much of a difference(played BF4 heavily on both). I think what it boils down to is: the price tag (but with the Xbox one becoming 400 without a kinect you may want to compare the two systems a bit more), and what system your friends chose. Every one of my friends that games opted for a xbox one and playing multiplayer with people you know makes the online battle much more fun, regardless if it's Sony or Microsoft.

    There's my 2 cents.

I owned both consoles for a few months. I recently sold my Xbox One. I think both are awesome systems. I was really impressed with the TV stuff on the One. The PS4 is more powerful, but graphically there really wasn't a huge difference between consoles. In the end it came down to exclusives for me. I've always preferred Sony. You can't really go wrong with either system.

As far as downloading games digitally, it takes forever on the PS in my experience while it has been pretty quick on the X1.

It is early though and it's a good sign that PS seems to be putting more emphasis on online gaming this gen from the beginning. MS seems to put the most emphasis on it though and they also have more dedicated servers.
The Show issues have always been there. That's more of a game issue imo.
My download speeds on PS4 are pretty good but that's really dependent on where each person is located probably. PS3 wasn't as good as LIVE for sure.

Well good things is there's competition with consoles so we all can get what we like.

The Show being Laggy has nothing to do with PSN. The Devs have never been able to get online play correct. With baseball, I really don't care because there has to be absolutely no lag for the pitcher/batter dynamic to work. I have both and psn wasn't bad on PS3 aside from slow downloads. The PS4 experience has been much much better. I think psn On PS4 is on part with xbl at this point.

It probably seems worse to me because the Show and Battlefield are the only games ive tried to play online on my PS4 and I had bad lag problems with both. Everything else I play on the X1 and I haven't had any lag problems with anything outside of the beginning of the NBA2k launch. You don't see big games released on the X1 having continuous lag problems like we see with the Show for whatever reason. That is the main reason why I buy most 3rd party online games for the X1 opposed to PS.

Perhaps much of my opinion on PS online is because ive been used to Xbox live being better for a number of years. You're probably right though that the gap between the two online services isn't as wide as it used to be. However, there is still probably a gap because the X1 has more dedicated servers, but like I said, I have a small sample size when it comes to PS online.

I'm glad that both of the major consoles are putting a major priority on online gaming because much of my gaming is online. Both of them sure seem to be leaving Nintendo behind when it comes to online.

but why would Sony release a game that is so poor online? It doesn't seem that they put as much effort into the online portion of the game.

That doesn't happen with Xbox games. You can be sure that any major title released by Xbox is going to have a seamless online experience.

I own a PS4 and will be picking up a One shortly. If I had to chose one though it would be a PS4 hands down. Better exclusives in my opinion and multi-platform games run better.

Also MLB: The Show! If you like sports games and baseball it's a no-brainer.

I'm sure you'll enjoy whichever you decide. It's a great time to be a gamer.

Yeah, I have to chime in here.

The Show has nothing to do with PSN. It has NEVER had good online play, ever.

I have played BF4 on my PS4 absolutely lag free. I am hard wired straight to a modem though, no router, and routers can definitely cause different problems for different pieces of hardware. Check to make sure all the right ports are open.

I was a 360 guy. I owned a 360 when it first launched, switch to PS3 for about 2 years, then went back to 360 for the rest of the pre-current gen cycle. XBL was way ahead of PSN on last gen. It is definitely pretty close right now.

Again. I wanted to avoid posting in this thread, but I just have to give my observations. I pick my PS4, hands down, but I DO enjoy my One. I do not regret that purchase at all. You really can't go wrong.

Who cares about online baseball? Really? It's really one of the only sports games that the AI provides enough of a challenge. Again, The Show issues are nit PSN related. I was just pointing that out since you used it as a basis for stating xbl is better than psn.

I do. 90 percent of my sports gaming is online.

Whatever the cause, they clearly didn't make online a priority when creating the game. That doesn't happen with Xbox titles.

I think I am going with the PS4, the glory days of playing my real life friends in Madden have been over for a while now because I don't buy Madden anymore and the only other sports game I really play online is NBA 2K but I like to play that offline mostly. Even with next gen it looks like I won't be buying Madden for another 2-3 years if ever again. So I might as well by the system with the games I like most which is PS4.

PS4 is my go to console this gen, but am really starting to enjoy the Xbox One a lot more. For months it felt like a $500 paperweight, but that has changed quite a bit.

I also must mention how much I enjoy the voice controls now - as a father of a 6 month old, it is so nice to be able to say Xbox got to app, select 1, volume up or pause - good stuff.

I still enjoy the Sony exclusives a lot more, the user interface simplicity more, but the old Xbox is finding its niche in our home.

But at the same time I like the PS4's exclusives better, Uncharted, The Last of Us, The Order. And the only XboxONE exclusive I like is Quantum Break. So I have to choose between my best friend (whos stays out of state) or the console I prefer.
You would have more fun playing with your friend than playing the PS4 in another room. You could always get the PS4 when the price get lowered. It only 3 exclusives that really does not have no replay ability after you beat it. Your gonna have more fun playing with him than by yourself.

I'm choosing the PS4 because I like the exclusives and most of my friends have it already(so playing it is gonna be a lot more fun than doing it by myself).

But if you like the Exclusives that much then get a PS4 instead and have fun playing it.
