Re: Alienware Alpha, Steam Based Console

So I was 100% correct. Amazon verified without a doubt that the seller did in fact advertise this product as 100% brand new and factory sealed.

In their initial email to the seller, they're asking that he provide me with the information needed to transfer the registration and additional compensation for the item as if it were a used one.

    I paid $630 so I want at least $125-$150.

Otherwise, if Amazon themselves have to rectify it (if the seller doesn't respond), I'll take at bare minimum a warranty from them that includes accidental.

I really don't want to send it back. LOL! It looks so nice in my gaming room and having to wait for a new one and do all the updates and installs again really doesn't sound like very much fun.

Does anyone know how to disable up on the dpad on the 360 controller showing my Steam options? I'm trying to change to my armor piercing rounds in FONV and every time I hit up, this menu command keeps prompting.

I was thinking of getting an Alienware Alpha machine and just wanted to see what some people's thoughts were on it. The one I am looking at doesnt have the Steam OS but the actual Windows 8 or 10 operating system. I am also looking at the i5 or the i7 model. If someone has it, do you enjoy it more than a console (Ps4 or Xbox1)? I just know there are games that arent on the consoles that I would like to play and thought this would be a good option.

I got the older i5 Windows version and it is a nice entry into PC gaming and is a step above the current consoles. The older versions had an integrated GPU, so they are limited on upgrades, but the new ones do allow more options. However once you get hooked, you may wish you had just built a PC to begin with as it is not as hard as many think and you will get better performance and be able to customize and upgrade in the future as you wish.

I ended up doing this last year after looking at an Alienware. Here's my build:

It's a nice little machine that I can move to my basement TV for gaming. And I have the option to upgrade the video card at some point.
