Yes this was what I read last night, that's kept me from opting in, but Im going to do anyway, just like other said, you can opt out and all my games are my external HDD anyway. I'm not so concerned anyway cause the way MS puts out updates so fast makes it a little easier, plus if I'm not mistaken this update becomes 100 Live in November, so a few months of testing shouldn't be that bad.
What's the typical wait time to receive notification of acceptance (for the regular preview program)? I had someone send me an invite a couple of weeks ago, but no message from MS yet. I'm hoping it's not because it was right around the time the beta was going out.
Hard to say, they made it more difficult and are in a different mode of testing right now with the NXOE being iterated to testers. I wouldn't be surprised if they don't add more testers before the new dash is 100% rolled out.
I opted out a few days ago. Way too buggy for me but I did like the new UI. When I turned on my XBOX One yesterday afternoon, it was applying an update, thought I was getting another update to the new UI since my dashboard preview still said pending for my opting out. It actually reverted back to the old UI. Thankfully I had just purchased an external drive and moved everything over a few days ago.
It's been buggie for me, but that's what happens. It's called a preview for a reason. I like what the new system update will look like. It's a more simplified detailed vision if that makes sense.
Opted out and could not be more pleased to have my old dashboard back. I knew what I was getting myself into opting in to begin with, however this thing d*mn near bricked my console. Wouldn't read disks, and randomly rebooted at least half a dozen times. That's in addition to the sluggish navigation.
So weird that the community is split on this update. Some have no issues at all, while others experience all the bugs. Wonder if it has anything to do with the age of the system. Either way I sincerely hope M$ doesn't rush this out until these issues are fully addressed.
