Dev Kits have been released to developers and Insiders are saying a 2016 release is possible:

IGN is speculating that the tech will be on par with PS4/XB1.
I'm intrigued about the portable component to it as well.

If this is all true, I guess a new Zelda game for the Wii U is out.

I would love it if they had hardware up to par...or even better considering it would be around three years after the launch of the MS and Sony systems. That, get third party support, Nintendo first party games - would be awesome.


But please don't let the controller be like this image that was floating around a few places, we need more than 2 face buttons!

3rd Party support is an absolute must if the NX wants to survive and not turn into the U 2.0.

At launch, they need to have a new Zelda, Mario, Metroid(?) and at least one 3rd-party AAA-title available.
Otherwise, if the big developers like EA don't see enough market share, they're not going to bother making games for it.

I'm also secretly hoping that the NX finds a way to incorporate the Gamepad controller.
Anything to make our purchase of the Wii U somewhat salvageable.

Not just that, but all wii and wii u controllers. To this day I still find it cool to play a game and have a handful of different controllers to choose from. Or even a few ports for the gamecube controllers like the wii had. Probably not happening, but I can hope! Either way I love technology and new gaming systems, day 1 buy no matter what. Just hope I get some more play on it than I did the Wii U.

Look like the new Zelda will be getting the Twilight Princess treatment. They purposefully held it back until the Wii was ready. An open world Zelda would be one hell of a launch title.

Honestly, it'd be stupid for them to waste a Zelda on the WiiU at this point....I mean it sucks for WiiU owners, but just didn't get popular enough.

It'll release on both most likely, similar to Twilight Princess releasing on Gamecube and Wii.

I got a feeling it be the NX exclusive launch title. I been saying it every since they showed off the Zelda game at e3. Its the way Nintendo works.

Have a feeling that NX will be underpowered compared to PS4 and Xbox One and still have some gimmick garbage attached to it. Nintendo needs to go all out and simply release a standard basic console. If NX turns out to be Wii U part two, I can easily see Nintendo going third party once the ninth generation of gaming starts.

It needs to be a good amount stronger then ps4 and Xbox one. If it is just equal power then in just a few years when ps5 and Xbox 2 or what ever come out it is just going to be much weaker again.

The end of this trailer mentions the new Zelda on WiiU.

It's definitely going to release on WiiU, the question is will it also launch on NX which is pretty likely I would say.

Oh it will definitely hit WiiU. Most likely NX as well with it being this close to the supposed release, but it will be on WiiU for sure.
