Digital Pre-Orders Help!

Ok so I for the first time have digitally ore ordered a game BO3. Now obviously you can install it before 12:01 EST but can you update the game with the "first patch" or launch patch whatever you wanna call it. Basically what I'm asking is do digitally pre ordered games update themselves before the unlock time?

No. It doesn't download the patch until it unlocks and you actually play it.

Actually the opposite is true. It will update itself before hand. Not to offend but I just notice my digital pre order of bo3 had the little "updated" star in the right hand corner of the game

Whenever the game preloads, patches can install. For example, Need for Speed downloaded last week, two patches installed before today already.

Yeah, I think sometimes they put the game up before it's gold just to get people loading, then you'll get whatever patches they have. Love this aspect, won't have to wait for Fallout to install from disc when I get home Tuesday! Or maybe Monday night lol
